December is a slightly peculiar month to decide to fling open your restaurant doors for the first time what with it being Christmas and all, but that hasn’t set these lovely seven restaurants back at all. It’s our final round up of restaurant openings for 2019 so for one last time, let’s see what’s in store for December. Happy munching!

Wild Tavern

This one’s for the Chelsea dwellers. From the group who brought us Burger & Lobster, Beast and Goodmans, Wild Tavern is inspired by Italian neighbourhood restaurants and will serve a selection of feasting plates. Expect to be chowing through bundles of seafood and grilled meats, all washed down with a glass from their tempting wine list. Bellissimo!

Bancone Soho

If you’re looking for somewhere to get your pasta fix Bancone’s latest venture will be sure to satisfy. Drawing influences from the 20 regions around Italy, Bancone’s pasta is made in house by hand every day so you can expect to be munching your way through bowls of potato gnocchi and pasta laced with spicy ragu.

Davies and Brook

One of the world’s best restaurants, New York’s Eleven Madison Park, is getting a sibling this December and it’s coming to London in the form of new restaurant Davies and Brook. Having collected three-Michelin-stars for Eleven Madison Park, Daniel Humm will be bringing his expertise to Claridge’s this month. His Claridge’s offering will be bringing over some of the best dishes from Eleven Madison Park while championing British produce.

Casa do Frango

Much loved Portuguese grilled chicken connoisseurs, Casa do Frango, will be bringing a splash of sunshine to the miserable London winter and landing in Shoreditch this month. Casa do Frango will be drawing influences from authentic Algarvian cuisine so expect piri piri charcoal-grilled chicken to be taking centre stage, alongside Portuguese beef cheek stew; acorn-fed pork; and the Montanheira salad. Sign us up!

The Melusine

Did you sea this one coming? The Melusine, spearheaded by founders Theodore Kyriakou and Wade Mundford, is destined to be your new favourite neighbourhood seafood restaurant. Using sustainable sourced seafood, their menu is largely designed for sharing. Expect to be lapping up jalapeño aioli with langoustines, fighting over who gets the last mouthful of the salmon rilettes with horseradish and devouring the grilled cuttlefish and chickpea fricassee.

Rising to fame after its debut at Taste of London, Barboun is a brand new eastern Mediterranean grill influenced by the flavour combinations found in towns dotted along the Levantine coast. Nestled on Great Eastern Street, you’ll find Barboun’s menu focuses on ingredients cooked over wild open fires.

Gaucho Charlotte Street

If you’ve been reading The Handbook for a while now you’ll know we’re a little bit obsessed with Gaucho. Whether it’s their succulent Argentinian steaks or their dog friendly lunches, we’re all over it. So when we heard Gaucho Charlotte Street was getting a major refurb, we were jumping with joy!

As you wander through the doors, you’ll find yourself transported into their private wine room before making your way through to the main restaurant. Expect flamboyant Buenos Aires inspired interiors, exceptional food and a whole lotta fun.
