For one night, and one night only, The Chicago Blues Brothers will be presenting their musical mash-up, bringing Motwon and funk classics to life with dazzle, razzle and a good ol’ bit of bedazzle. Goodness gracious Gherkin, did someone say Perrier-Jouët? Pop into London’s most jolly building, The Gherkin, and whizz upto Searcys for some Champers as this summer, they’re putting on a botanical inspired cocktail menu, live entertainment and hangovers! Eek!
Perrier-Jouët’s takeover is spanning the city in fact. #IntoTheWild at Hush is the event that appeals to an Instagrammer, with bright florals, neon glows and gold anemones galore. Sip cocktails coloured with Perrier-Jouët and Beefeater 24 in Mayfair’s awesome venue, Hush.
There’s also an afternoon tea at Sexy Fish which sounds pretty darn, well, sexy! Perrier-Jouët takes centre stage at the feast, amongst other British ingredients and a seasonal Japanese influence to boot. Whether it’s savoury or sweet that takes your fancy, Champagne will always be flowing…
Where: 30 St Mary Axe (The Gherkin), Saint Mary Axe, London, United Kingdom
Nearest station: London Fenchurch Street (0.2 miles)
The weather forecast, so far, is looking more promising than the sporadic rain showers we’ve been drenched with this week. Boasting blue skies (ish) and 25 degrees, why not cool yourselves down with a coffee served cold? We’ve rounded up some of our favourite spots for espressos with big ol’ dollops of ice to boot…

Geese may fly south for the winter, but they fly to a certain WC postcode in the summer, or at least the grey ones do. Vodka makers Grey Goose Vodka have set up shop in Covent Garden with their ‘Live Like Summer Never Ends’ Terrace. Anyone with the calendar version of Sunday night blues, who’s looking at July swing into August and thinking it’s basically Guy Fawkes night now should take a detour to Covent Garden for this al fresco cocktail extravaganza. The terrace will be hosting live music acts, sub-zero cocktails and lots and lots of your favourite vodka! You can even book into a masterclass with some of London’s most acclaimed mixologists or or get a roped off area to enjoy some vodka cocktails with your mates.
All weekend and daily until Monday 19th August
Take your afternoon at the quintessential Rubens at the Palace this weekend, as they introduce their latest royal razzle dazzle! Fit for a Queen, King, Prince, Princess, Dame, Duchess… ah, you get the picture, the afternoon tea features a tapestry of flavoursome sandwiches, from coronation chicken and toasted almonds, to cucumber and cream cheese, to mouth-watering macrons in gin & tonic flavour, as well as peach mousse and more.
Pair it all with some bubbly, or if it’s a sober Saturday then opt for one of the many teas. From Rubens golden tips tea, a gorgeous Ceylon Sri Lanka hand-picked blend, to mango sunshine, the classics and more.
It certainly is time for tea!
Get the bottles poppin, Piper Heidsieck is in town ladies and gents.
The Champagne house knows all too well that summer requires Champers, and what better way to enjoy a glass of the fabby fizz than on the rooftop of Selfridge’s? Their luxe Champagne Garden is kicking about for the summer months and you’ll be kicking back on plush cushions. To soften the boozy blow, feats on Italian food pairings and imagine you’re in Sorrento, if just for the afternoon.
The terrace is a total street and an oasis in the clouds, hidden from the bustle of busy London. Piper Heidsieck, we love you!
Wahay, it’s International Scottish Gin Day. And, if you thought everything, like everything, now has an ‘international day’ attached to it, then you definitely weren’t wrong!
To celebrate, there’s a special cocktail to get your hands on, courtesy of Theodore Gin and it’s 16 botanical splendour! The Scottish gin has traversed the rugged terrains of The Highlands, to whizz into a specially curated cocktail that really tickles our fancy. Literally – it’s called Tickle My Fancy and it’s available at Nightjar this Saturday. The cocktail includes Theodore gin, electric liqueur, Pennyroyal cordial, Rinomato Bianco aperitivo, fizzy muscat candy, tangerine and lime juice. Slàinte!
It’s the terrifying, dark and disturbing horror film that’ll give you nightmares for the next twenty years, so what do we recommend? Going to watch it this weekend, of course! Midsommar is now in cinemas, after a lengthy stint of popping up on adverts and scaring us to death. It’s been a big hit (for all the wrong, scary reasons) so if you’ve got nothing better to do then catch it at a cinema near you this weekend… and sleep with the lights on for the foreseeable.
If you’re up for a bit of a cheeky food fix this weekend then make it this lip-smacking Laurent-Perrier pizza. Yup, Pizza Pilgrims are on a pilgrimage to shout their awesome new offering which features a hot smoked salmon and mascarpone whopper with a glass of Laurent-Perrier Champers on the side. It’s the ideal summer combo and, this weekend, you can get a slice of the action…
Look, we know a prime position on the sofa and a dose of Netflix is a dandy way to while away any weekend. But how about a pub crawl? We’re not talking a trip to your nearest Spoons or a pint and peanuts down at The Horse & Crown, but an epic Shoreditch-based extravaganza bursting with some of London’s most coveted venues.
If you’re going “out out,” Micky Flanagan style, then The Shoreditch Pub Crawl has your name on it. Love a freebie? How does free entry to five clubs and pubs sound? Love to shot it like it’s hot? How do free shots sound? Yep, we thought all that’d grab your attention…
Whilst we can’t promise you’ll wake up feeling fresh the following day, we can promise one of the best London night’s out on our radar.
The Shoreditch Pub Crawl happens every Thursday, Friday & Saturday!

Knock, knock! Who’s there?
Only Europe’s first ever pop-up Shakespearean theatre arriving at Blenheim Palace! While nothing will beat how dreamy Leo looked as Romeo back in the film remake, we’re certainly excited to be transported back to the Elizabethan period at the Rose Theatre, even if for a few hours. We’ve got a pack of tissues ready ‘cos we’re gonna be weeping by the end of Romeo and Juliet!
There’s four spectacular performances at the Rose Theatre to choose from. If you’re a fan of a dark tragedy populated by witches, Macbeth is the one for you as you uncover the haunting tale of over-reaching ambition, a torturous marriage and a kingdom that’s about to come crashing down. Or opt for the lighthearted comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and follow as four lovers set out into the woods, where mythical fairies lie.
Tickets include access to Shakespeare’s village and your selected Rose Theatre performance, or if you’re looking to explore Blenheim Palace and the Formal Gardens as well, there’s a combined ticket available too. Just don’t forget your finest Elizabethan ruff!
Running until 7th September
Love Island is over, so now it’s time to actually get our lives back and do some dating of our own! Enter 101 date ideas which we simply can’t wait to try… if only the weekend was longer than three days!

Covent Garden’s Opera Tavern has raised the curtain and got its party dress on, following a full refurbishment with a new head chef and menu. For those who aren’t in-the-know but want to be, the former pub is the sister venue of tapas gems Salt Yard, Ember Yard and Dehesa. Located in the middle of Theatreland, the aptly named Opera Tavern is back with a bang and a menu boasting show-stopping numbers like Iberico pork and Galician octopus. For those fancying a post-performance pick-me-up, we’d recommend the Salted Amalfi (manzanilla sherry, limoncello, clarified lemon, tonic bitters) or El Secreto (Tanqueray, quince jelly; parmesan crisp). Opera Tavern is definitely where you’ll find us dining this weekend. Tapas the menu….
