11 Exciting London November Openings

10th November 2024 | By Andrea Pinto

While we inch into the winter months, we’re looking for cosy pubs, heated terraces and nice indoor spots to eat some warming comfort food. And while you might have your neighbourhood favourites, London has lots of exciting new openings to look forward to. From a homely Italian spot that can see from breakfast to after-work drinks, to a speakeasy that serves some cool, inventive cocktails – here are our picks of great new November openings in London:

Nipotina

A new opening launched by Jamavar, Socca and KOYN’s Samyukta Nair, Nipotina is a traditional Italian restaurant that will serve nostalgic Italian dishes with family at the core of its offerings. The kitchen is helmed by Turin-born chef Somaia Hammad, and you can expect simple, seasonal produce along with a dose of Italian soul. Italian wine maestro Luca Dusi of Shoreditch-based Passione Vino will also join the team to curate an all-Italian wine list that’s poured by the carafe as well as the glass. On the menu, you’ll see wood-fired seafood and meats, hand-crafted pasta and crisp Nothern Italian pizzas. The pudding highlight is Nonna Lina’s cake – a ricotta cake named after Somaia’s grandmother and the grandmothers before her. Open early each morning for breakfast, long lunches, aperitivo, late dinners and cocktails, the restaurant takes inspiration from cherished memories and recipes that can take you from Piedmont to Puglia.

Once inside you’ll find an intimate, Paris-style bar that makes the perfect party spot. Cocktails on the menu include the spicy rose paloma, hot honey highball, banana and pineapple daiquiri, and spicy Mezcalita. You can also nibble on snacks like caviar served with blinis, creme fraiche, shallots, and chives; dressed oysters with passionfruit lime oil dressing or prosecco, strawberry pearls & shallot vinaigrette; crab cakes, truffle and parmesan chips and more.

Bottarga

For Mediterranean cuisine that’s inspired by research trips the team took to the Aegean island over the past few summers, Bottarga is Chelsea’s newest neighbourhood restaurant. With a homely vibe, Bottarga has a menu that’s highly produce-led and looks like the sort of place you need to immediately add to your bucket list. The restaurant serves signature hot and cold mezze, whole grilled day-boat fish finished with chilli butter and ribeyes on-the-bone, saganaki tapioca bites coated in sesame and thyme honey, kalamata Gildas featuring Cantabrian anchovies with aged graviera, whole burnt butter potatoes and lots more. And don’t miss ordering Bottarga’s namesake dish, a golden bottarga orzo. For dessert, there’s a decadent chocolate cheesecake which is served under a cascade of salted caramel chocolate sauce. Sounds fabulous? It is!

Silva

SILVA, a new day-to-night restaurant, is set to open its doors in the heart of Bruton Place, Mayfair. Derived from the Latin word for “forest” SILVA’s menu takes inspiration from the changing seasons from across the Mediterranean to Japan. The menus at SILVA are a manifestation of Founder Daria Grebenyuk’s travels across various countries, savouring different foods and culinary traditions from Europe and beyond. For breakfast, the menu includes light and healthy dishes and some signature brunch recipes, with an array of egg dishes and pastries as well as larger sweet and savoury plates, such as the indulgent gratinated crab and Gruyère omelette or the fluffy soufflé pancakes served with a white chocolate and lavender Chantilly. The daytime menu will showcase a range of starters and raw dishes, with notable offerings including the crispy fried egg served elegantly atop parmesan cream and salmon with crunchy rice, ponzu and shisho. Come evening, some larger sharing dishes will become available also, a line-caught turbot with wakame beurre blanc and Chateaubriand with wild mushrooms.

Nancy Spains

Nancy Spains, the popular Irish pub is launching a second space at 143 Fenchurch Street in the heart of Monument. Expect delicious cocktails and Irish pints at a spot that serves as the ideal after-work retreat. The brothers behind the brand, Peter, Nicky and Seamus travelled back and forth to their home of Ireland over the past year touring the rural pub scene for inspiration for the new site, and the new space is kitted out in a similar style to the original to continue the brand’s signature rustic Irish pub vibe. An intriguing addition to this location is a spacious basement that’s hidden away beneath the main pub – the only details we have on it as of now are that you can look forward to exclusive events, private parties, and a few “surprises” from the team.
