Enter Laithwaites Wine Festival, the two-day event proving that wine festivals can be more than just a tasting.
Taking place on Friday 12th to Saturday 13th May, the annual festival returns after a four-year hiatus, and it’s set to be their biggest and best line-up of events yet. Here’s why you’ll want to be part of London’s coolest wine festival…
Returning to the home of its first Wine Festival back in 1980, Tony Laithwaite and family will be pitching up in the Olympia in Kensington for two days packed with an exciting roster of events and wines from countries around the world.
Hosting this year’s May festival will be bestselling author and TV personality, Oz Clarke. Bringing the festival to life thanks to his bubbly personality, he’ll be on hand to guide you through the art of wine tasting. Included in your ticket will be a free tasting guide and complimentary tasting glass, allowing you to travel the world through wine, sampling over 350 wines and chat to more than 100 wine producers and makers from 17 countries.
As well as sampling, wine lovers can join expert-led tastings and truly get to know the nitty-gritty details of grapes, regions and varieties. You are guaranteed to leave these sessions knowing what you like, what you love and what to pair at your next dinner party.
Alongside all of the wine action, there’ll be plenty of foodie stops. Think artisan food stands including cheese and charcuterie, luxury spirit brands and English fizz if you’re more into your bubbles.
Want to level up your experience? You can upgrade your ticket giving you exclusive access to the Fine Wine Room. Here you’ll have access to the best bottles from around the world, from classic regions including Cru Classé, Bordeaux and Burgundy to New World estates like Australia, California, Argentina and New Zealand. Sip into the day on vintage Champagne from Grand Marqués, such as Bollinger and Moët, sample dessert wines from Royal Tokaji, and even try top-quality cognacs and spirits.
Tickets are selling fast so book you and your friends in for a wine festival with a difference.
