only murders in the building season 3

One of the most delightfully fun shows on TV is coming back: Hulu’s Only Murders In The Building returns for a third season on Disney+.

The mystery series, starring Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez, will come back on our screens with two new big stars making an appearance. Both Paul Rudd and three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep will be joining the ranks for an epic season packed with just as much mystery, murder and humour as before. If you’re suffering from White Lotus withdrawal, Only Murders In The Building Season 3 should be right around the corner.

Here’s everything we know about Only Murders In The Building Season 3

The first season of Only Murders released back in 2021, with the unlikely cast of comedians Martin and Short (already known for some of their post SNL work together) and actress and singer Selena Gomez.

The trio proved to work together brilliantly though, and the show won critical acclaim for their performances and chemistry. The true crime podcast fanatics would return for season 2, with Rudd joining the cast in the finale, and now are once again ready to put their sleuthing skills to work in season 3. But what does this new batch episode hold in store? For starters, the show will be heading out of the trio’s familiar Arconia buidling and into Broadway (Only Murders In The General Vicinity Of The Building?), where another mystery is afoot.

The location makes sense, with Martin’s Charles-Haden Savage being a former TV star and Short’s Oliver Putnam being a theatre director. This is also where Paul Rudd’s character comes in, as a pretentious actor who (SPOILERS!) rather unfortunately dies on stage in the season 2 finale. Presumably, given that he’s a cast member for S3, he’ll appear in flashbacks to flesh out his story. The grande dame of Hollywood acting Meryl Streep meanwhile is playing an as of yet unannounced character- though given the fact Steve Martin uploaded a photo of her and Rudd alongside the main trio, it’s safe to assume she’ll be playing a sizeable role.

There’s not an official release date for the new season yet, though since the previous two seasons released a year apart, you can be confident it’ll arrive later in 2023. You can catch up meanwhile with the previous two seasons over on Disney+. If you loved Glass Onion and are looking for a comedic mystery substitute, Only Murders In The Building Season 3 is certainly a worthy one.
