We’re only a matter of weeks into 2024 and already we have a new trend. Are you ready to up the glamour and embrace the Mob Wife Aesthetic?

From Tomato Girl to Clean Girl, we thought we’d seen it all, but no. TikTok has got us reaching for designer shades and faux fur coats, as we enter the era of the mob wife. Picture Ginger McKenna in Casino and Elvira Hancock in Scarface; we’re talking seriously fabulous women with a penchant for animal print, gold jewellery and sass. The look also coincides with the 25th anniversary of the cult TV show, The Sopranos, which was recently celebrated at the Emmys. And interestingly, the last time this trend snuck into our wardrobes marked the show’s 20th anniversary. It appears we love a bit of mafia styling.

We’re getting Italian American vibes with the faux fur coat being the key to the whole look. In many cases, influencers have dug out vintage furs and paired them with high-end handbags and black boots. Net A Porter is a must for the latest totes from Italian brands, such as Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana, however, you’re guaranteed to find similar luxe iterations at Zara or Mango.

Kylie Jenner and Dua Lipa have both embraced this high-octane glamour in lace, leather, fluffy coats and a whole lot of attitude. So unsurprisingly, 2024 is looking pretty sexy right now. It’s all about strong women in killer heels.

This look isn’t for the fainthearted. It’s bold and striking. It means business. So throw on the statement coat, layer up the animal print, step away from the Uggs and into sky-high heels and don’t forget the sunglasses. Fendi, Versace or Cavalli, of course…
