The most prestigious department centre in London is getting a new Champagne bar! Moët and Chandon is opening a new outlet in Harrods, and it’ll be the brand’s largest standalone bar Europe.
Located on the ground floor, it’s set to be a new permanent fixture of the famous shopping centre, and a place to stop and have a nice cool drink after hours of browsing the shop’s many stores.
As you might expect for Harrods, the bar itself will be grand in design and feel, which has been hand sculpted to evoke the “undulating terroir of the Épernay Champagne region.” You’ll be able to try out the full range of Moët’s cuvees, with Impérial Brut NV, Rosé Impérial and Ice Impérial trio on the menu along with current Grand Vintage releases. While these can be drunk by the glass, if you want to indulge more in all the champagne brand has to offer, you can order various bottles including the Legacy Grand Vintage Collection.
Meanwhile, the bar’s cocktail menu will give you even more delicious drink options, like Dose d’Or, which Harrods calls “a truly decadant concoction with Hennesy X.O, miso and white chocolate – and the Sgroppino Royale, with rhubarb and Champagne and apple sorbet.” If you’re hungry, you can always order yourself seafood and savoury bites to pair with your drink, like burrata toasts with kimchee and black sesame, and exclusive patisserie.
All of this will be experienced underneath a large, shimmering chandelier, which has been inspired by “the effervescence of Champagne, with organic curves that reference the maison’s historic chalk cellars” The bar will have capacity for over 30 people, and you’ll be able to visit in the near future: the bar is set to open on 7th July, and bookings are opening soon.
Speaking on the opening, Michael Ward, the Managing Director of Harrods said: “We are delighted to welcome the addition of this exceptionally designed customer experience which promises to be an iconic destination for both Londoners and international visitors. The Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar will be the perfect addition to our food and beverage offering.”
