The Tamil Crown

If there’s one thing we’re loving the rise of, it’s the advance in really good foodie pubs. The arrival of Islington’s Tamil Prince last year is a testament to this. Famed for bringing a taste of South Asian cuisine to London, the team are set to bring these flavours to Angel this month, with the launch of The Tamil Crown.

Expect the same flare and precision to go into this neighbourhood spot, featuring a mix of small and large plates, as well as some of the best bar snacks in the city. Menu highlights include lime leaf roasted chicken with pineapple chutney; aubergine curry; coconut prawn moilee; robata lamb chops; and the tastiest orka fries you’ll try.

And we weren’t wrong. Aiming to be a sister, not a replica, The Wolseley City will house a larger dining space, complete with two private dining rooms and three bar spaces.

Keeping The Wolseley’s glamorous reputation alive, the space will draw inspiration from the original architect of 160 Piccadilly, designed by William Curtis Green in 1921. While the menu is inspired by the Grand European Café tradition, offering Wolseley favourites and new specialities.

London’s West End is set to get a little sweeter this month with the arrival of Broadwick Soho, the new independent luxury hotel located on Broadwick Street.

Inside the hotel, you’ll find five restaurants and bars to discover. Dear Jackie will specialise in Italian cuisine, boasting seductive Murano lighting, red silk walls and plush booths. Its little sister, Bar Jackie (pictured), will be the hotel’s all-day street-level Italian bar and terrace, serving up coffees, cocktails and antipasti options.

For rooftop vibes, Flute is the new spot to know, boasting maximalist and animal-print upholstery, cork walls and mirrored ceilings. The Nook is a residents-only floor lounge for hotel guests, while The Dining Room is an intimate private dining room seating up to 24 guests.

Inspired by David’s extensive travel through Italy over many years, the restaurant feels like an Amalfi coast haven, with cuisine to boot. The menu spotlights locally sourced and sustainable seafood, alongside traditional gelato and an extensive cocktail list.
