The Handbook
The Handbook

As the 1st of August lands today, office chats have been peppered with comments inclusive of “where’s the year gone?”, “time has flown by” and, brace yourselves, “it’ll be Christmas soon”. However, with the advent of a new month comes exciting things too and not just a sour attitude towards time flying the older we get!

Introducing The Belrose, a pub providing an eclectic drinks range to help you celebrate the coming of August. Yes, that’s right, open today is Belsize Park’s latest pub addition which will also serve up Italian-inspired food through the use of its big ol’ clay pizza oven. If you’re not quite ready to let go of your clasps on the sunshine, go and frolic in it at The Belroses’ adjoining garden…before we start to see the winter days of Ugg boots and trackies make a rather unwanted return. Alongside a sun-basking garden will be an on-site microbrewery to make all your beer dreams come true, so you’ll have a very hoppy life upon visiting.

On the foodie front: pizzas will be the stars of the show with options including spicy Calabrian sausage and chilli, mozzarella di bufala with fresh Sicilian tomatoes and fresh black truffle with mozzarella. There will also be a range of small plates available for snacking on, or to accompany post-work/pre-party drinks. As well as a tasty house IPA brewed on-site, there will be a range of other drinks for your perusing pleasure, from natural wines, international beers and a range of cocktails, spirits and softs.

Like Marks and Spencer with their introduction of mince pies in July – eye roll – The Belrose too are preparing for colder climes, with the outdoor space being made into a winter wonderland of sorts, with heaters, blankets and mulled drinks.

So, get yourselves down to this new neighbourhood local, as whilst education might be important, at The Belrose beer is importanter…

The Belrose will open at 94 Haverstock Hill, NW3 2BD,
