The Scottish might have deep fried Mars Bars but soon London is going to be home to the calzonified chocolate and we it has got us coming over all sorts of giddy.
It’s going to be one of the new additions at Pizza Pilgrims, which after years of trading from their van in east London, are finally getting a permanent site in Shoreditch. Of course, there’s going to be plenty of pizza, including the iconic, signature N’duja pizza and the portobello mushroom and truffle pizza, but there are also going to be crust dippers, prosciutto pops and tiramisu served in cardboard cups so you can take them away and meander around Shoreditch with them.
Back to the calzonified chocolate. You bring the chocolate, maybe a Snickers, maybe a Lion bar for a bit of crunch or go fancy with Lindor, they’ll wrap it in dough and bake it. You’ll fall in love… If that wasn’t good enough they’re also going to be doing BYOB, they’ve partnered up with a local off license on Shoreditch High Street, but now you can bring whatever you fancy to drink. In the end, there’ll be a £2.50 corkage per person but for the first month there won’t be any corkage. Ideal.
Kitted out in the classic Pizza Pilgrims way they’ll be green and white checked table cloths and classic arcade games. Adorning the walls will be pizza box art and if your creation catches their eye you might just see it joining their wall of fame and you’ll receive free pizza.
This is the first of three openings announced so far for 2017 with further openings in Waterloo and West India Quay later in the year.
Get choosing your chocolate, get choosing your drinks and start perfecting your art. You’ve been told.
