The Quarter Group (other venues include Chelsea Quarter Café on King’s Road, River Quarter Kitchen in Plantation Wharf Battersea and Heal’s Quarter Café and Quarter Café Express at the Heal’s flagship store in Tottenham Court Road) is launching Royal Quarter Café, near Buckingham Palace, on Buckingham Gate.
The menu will be a modern mix of seasonal, healthy comfort food – including homemade bread and pastries, all-day breakfast, sandwiches and soups, sharing plates, hearty salads, afternoon tea, and cakes and tarts, all available to eat in or take-away.
Savoury options include homemade brioche with poached pears, crème fraîche and mixed berry compote; Buffalo mozzarella with avocado, sundried tomatoes and green pesto, served on ciabatta; Parma ham with red pesto and rocket, on focaccia; Couscous with pomegranate, mint, coriander, pine nuts, spring onion and grilled halloumi; Chicken with roast sweet potatoes, fennel, pine nuts, parsley and rocket; Severn & Wye smoked salmon platter with green salad and toasted sourdough; and Crispy duck salad with shallots, chilli, pear, cucumber, mint and coriander.
The Royal Quarter’s selection of cakes, pastries and tarts take pride of place and are displayed alongside homebaked bread on a two-tiered oak table.
The impressive 70-seat corner site will have a light and modern interior, white walls and floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing natural light to fill the room. The interior will feature tall bookshelves, wood panelled walls, oak tables, green leather chairs and brown banquettes. Outdoor seating will also be available when it’s sunny.
