Just as Christmas appeared it was getting the 2020 axing, the Tower of London announced that their annual ice rink would be reemerging for another season. Thank goodness.

Christmas is going to be a whole lot different this year. Winter Wonderland won’t be taking over the entirety of Hyde Park, we won’t have any celebrity light switch ons and even London’s iconic New Years Eve firework display has been cancelled, but yesterday saw a Christmas miracle blossoming in the shape of a good ol’ fashioned ice rink.

The Tower of London announced yesterday that their annual ice rink will be whizzing its way onto the green come 14th November, allowing Londoners to fall flat on their face in front of their friends or skate to impress on a first date (or at least attempt to).

Set with a backdrop of the iconic tower walls, as well as views overlooking the Thames, the skate rink attracts Londoners, tourists and skating enthusiasts by the dozen every year, and this November won’t be any different (providing we aren’t in another lockdown of course).

The Tower of London announced yesterday that their annual ice rink will be whizzing its way onto the green come 14th November.

Of course this year’s health and safety precautions will be slightly different to previous years, with sanitising stations, contactless interactions and staggered session times implemented to help ensure the safety of both skaters and staff.

Scheduled to arrive on 14th November until 3rd January, there’ll be plenty of time to explore the crown jewels first before you whizz on by with your skates on the rink.

Tickets are available to book now, so all that’s left to do is select your lucky five pals to join you and glide around in circles around the spacious ice rink.
