From ballet flats to biker boots, there’s no shortage of ways to dress our feet this season. However, the most directional, designer look of the moment is all about square toe heels…

There’s something ever so futuristic about these angular heels. We’ve embraced pointed toes and even the gentler oval shapes, but this look is literally taking us a step further into SS24. Spotted on the runways at Prada and Jacquemus, variations of the square toe shoe range from kitten heels and ballet flats to sky-high stilettos and boots. Tapping into the biggest shoe trends is the Jacquemus Le ChouChou square toe ballet flat – needless to say, it’s been selling out quicker than you can get them on your feet.

High Street iterations are understandably more subtle in design, but if the budget allows, the sharper the cut, the cooler they look. And they get no cooler than Amina Muaddi creations. Designed in Paris, made in Italy, her shoes are exquisite and bold, most of which feature an unmistakable squared off toe. I can’t lie, I’m definitely coveting these beauties.

However, if you don’t want to splash out, you know you can rely on Zara. As you’d expect, the well-known brand is ahead of the game, thankfully offering up an affordable selection in exciting colours. While Topshop is more about the heavy duty boots that deliver on the square to trend.

Square toe heels are still leading the way within designer labels; it’s only a matter of time before the high street is awash with these strikingly cut shoes. Influencers have embraced this footwear trend, having been spotted in luxury styles from big names like Prada, Amina Muaddi, and Versace to boutique brands such as Eytys and Aeyde.
