Brace yourself against the chill in the latest drop of knitted turtlenecks from both the high street and family-run labels…

Knitwear really is upping the ante this season. From covetable cardis to the snuggliest turtlenecks, we’re struggling not to add all to our baskets. Plus, as winter sets in, the roll neck sweater is a must, for warmth, yes, but also effortless style. It works under long coats or casually with jeans and chunky boots. Alternatively, you can give it more of a high-end spin with a midi skirt and heels. The look oozes laid-back sophistication.

You’ll find plenty of sustainable brands, like Irish label Moss + Cable, with the most beautiful knits in both classic shades and bold colours. & Daughter, founded by Buffy Reid, also has a gorgeous selection of roll necks made from the finest cashmere and wool. Another with sustainability at its core is Spanish knitwear babaà. The company works with local artisans, shepherds and a family-run factory to produce luxurious sweaters. The checkerboard no17 jumper is definitely on my wishlist.

If, however, you’re after a high street find, Arket has you covered. Quite honestly, the Swedish brand’s knitwear is not just affordable; it’s of designer quality. Similarly, & Other Stories offerings are super soft, especially the cashmere turtleneck sweater. For brighter colours, Zara is embracing this season’s fiery red, while Ba&sh is all about the blues.

In a nutshell, we’re spoilt for choice.
