Cable Knit

From chic vests to layer up over crisp white shirts to cosy funnel necks that will keep you warm right through to spring, the cable knit jumper makes a return this season. Scroll to shop the best of the bunch.

Daffodils may be hitting the supermarket shelves already and our morning and evening commutes are no longer in complete darkness, but let’s be real, it’s still pretty cold out there. Thankfully one of the cosiest classic knits has made a return this season, the cable knit jumper, and it’s the perfect way to ward off winter chills.

Thanks to its timeless appeal, cable knit is one jumper worth investing in as it really won’t date from winter to winter. Look to brands like Loulou Studio and Toteme if you’re ready to invest and go oversized for a more wearable, luxe feel. On the high street, there are plenty of options, from COS’s balloon-sleeved version – perfect tucked into wide-leg slacks and belted at the waist – to Whistles’ cute ruffle neck half-zip option to pair with trusty denim.

Despite the practicality of a cable knit it does feel really pulled together and polished thanks to its long history steeped in artisanal appeal. But the intricately detailed wool also pairs perfectly with tougher leather pieces – marry it up with this season’s wide-leg leather trousers and chunky loafers for a cooler take on the look.
