The Traitors Series 2: All We Know

Traitors fans, it’s almost time: Claudia Winkleman and the super tense gameshow are back for a second series in just a few weeks. We’ve finally got our first few details on the release date and a first glimpse at what to expect this time around, with a new group of 22 strangers heading to a gothic Edinburgh castle to outwit each other in a bid to win over £100,000. Read on for all we know so far about The Traitors series 2.
When is The Traitors back on our screens?
It’s safe to say no one was really expecting The Traitors to become the smash hit that it did, dominating discussions between friends and co-workers as we scrambled to work out who was a traitor and who was faithful. But it did, and so we’ve been waiting since December 2022 to find out when we’d be treated for a second instalment. The BBC recently revealed that the show will be returning on Wednesday 3rd January at 9PM, with episodes 2 and 3 available immediately afterwards through iPlayer.
According to the broadcaster, episodes will then follow on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Of course, if you’ve yet to see series 1 and don’t want to feel left out, or want to relieve the twists and turns from last year, you can catch up on all 12 episodes now.

What do we know about this series?
Not much is the answer, except for a few key bits of info. Claudia Winkleman once again returns to host the nail-biting game show, and it’ll take place in the atmospheric Ardross Castle. There’s no word yet on who any of the contestants are, though the BBC has teased on their website that “all will be revealed in due course…”, so stay tuned for a full cast announcement.
Meanwhile, you’ll also be able to get a new insight into the series and each of its episodes with the new The Traitors: Uncloaked, billed as a new “visualised podcast” and hosted by comedian and seasoned podcast presenter Ed Gamble. It’ll dissect and analyse all the action that unfolds in the main series, as well as behind-the-scenes tidbits and interviews with contestants.
It’ll be available through BBC Two and iPlayer, as well as extended versions on BBC Sounds. The Traitors Series 2 begins on 3rd January on BBC One.
