Things To Do This Weekend, From ALSO Festival To Tate Modern’s New Exhibit

Head to a Mediterranean-inspired terrace

Not heading to the Med this summer? Enjoy the next best thing courtesy of Coppa Club and their beautiful Mediterranean-inspired terraces.

Renowned for the long balmy days and heady nights, Coppa Club is recreating that vibe at their Tower Bridge, Cobham and Brighton terraces this summer. Perfect for catching up with friends over a bite to eat, book yourself into one of their iconic igloos for a dreamy lunch. Menu highlights include the antipasti plate with Tuscan fennel salami, prosciutto, buffalo bocconcini, warm breads, chilli jam and caperberries; rare seared yellow fish with new potatoes, green beans, black olives, lemon and anchovy mayo; and pistachio and mortadella sourdough pizza.

Experience The Greatest Night of the Jazz Age

This weekend, you’re invited to travel back in time to 1930s New York to uncover the true story of Belle Livingstone’s 58th Street Country Club, a raucous Manhattan super club born in the final years of Prohibition.

Brought to life by experience experts, The Lost Estate, you can expect to enter New York’s speakeasy scene and Ms. Belle Livingstone’s legendary club that, for a brief few hours, became a playground of Hollywood Queens, Harlem Kings and Park Avenue tycoons until it was raided by Federal agents never to be opened up again – until now.

Following its sell-out success, the show has been extended for the final time, with dates running until late September. This must-see experience features a jaw-dropping set by long-term collaborators Darling and Edge, a culinary odyssey by Executive head Chef Ash Clarke (ex-Gordon Ramsey Group) and the best live jazz band in London, led by Rory Simmons (Blur, Jamie Cullum). Don’t miss out, get your tickets now.

Catch Carnaby’s summer installation

If there’s one neighbourhood that does installations well, it’s Carnaby. The recycling brand has created the destination’s latest, Are You Mad, coming in the form of three hand-heart-shaped arches suspended over Carnaby Street and Newburgh Street.

Sitting alongside the existing Welcome To Carnaby Street arches that have also been upcycled, the installations have been made using waste plastic sourced from local shops and restaurants. A grand total of 684kg of recycled plastic waste has been used to create these striking rainbow arches. Head down this weekend to catch a glimpse for yourself.
