Pickwell Manor, Devon
Into the woods we go…
Pickwell Manor in Braunton, Devon is home to rural apartments, sprawling gardens and, of course, tree houses. With the desire to make their guests stay as remote, enjoyable and connected to the landscape as possible, the owners devised two bespoke treehouses for guests to explore, one overlooking the grounds and sea and the other with soaring views over Baggy point and Lundy island. The treehouses themselves both sleep up to two, and house cosy nooks for guests to curl up in and watch the world go by. We love The Loft for its ensuite shower room that’s decorated with the forest in mind (quite literally, you’ll be surrounded by a woodland space as you shower!).

We want to bring your attention to their glorious tree houses though, more specifically the Sunrise Tree House. The larger of the five available, the sunrise treehouse sleeps up to six and will see you sleeping amongst the trees.
Wondering where its name came from? It’s thanks to the stained glass windows that shine through the sunny rays at both sunrise and sunset. It’s the perfect rustic destination, equipped with all of the essential necessities, from a log-burning stove to its own private terrace. Sit back and relax, or climb out and explore the 22 acres of greenland.

Sky Den, Northumberland
Imagine a roof that opens up like a convertible car whenever you’re just a little too hot and your average Dyson fan isn’t going to cut it. It sounds like something of a dream, but in fact, it was the envision of William Hardie Designs and George Clarke for the Channel 4 quirky architectural show, George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces.
Located in Northumberland, the Sky Den is equipped with all of your essential needs, from a fully functioning kitchen with fold-away furniture to a balcony overlooking the nearby river. It’s a mini paradise that uses every ounce of its design to benefit and hide away different features into its nooks, to only come out when needed.
