Feeling stumped that you won’t be partying it up at Glastonbury this weekend? Fear not as we’ve rounded up the best al fresco summer events that you can still get tickets for. 

From jazz festivals to open-air screenings, these are the UK summer events to book right now.

Live At The Palace

If you missed out on the first Live at the Palace weekender then you’re in luck, as their second weekend is just around the corner and jam-packed with huge music legends and rising stars. 

Presented by Robomagic, Live at the Palace will once again be taking over Fulham Palace. The weekend will kick off on Friday 28th July with OMD, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, who will be headlining the night. Saturday 29th will see British music icon Emeli Sandé headlining, alongside special guests Sinéad Harnett and Lady Blackbird. While on Sunday 30th, join the likes of UB40 feat. Ali Campbell and his incredible nine-piece band as they headline the final night.

Everyman Secret Garden at The Grove

Fancy have your own Grease open-air cinema moment? Book in for this extra special outdoor cinema experience at The Grove. 

Situated in the hotel’s Walled Garden, the luxury Hertfordshire hotel and spa welcomes Everyman Secret Garden for another summer filled with unforgettable film moments. 

Running from July to September, grab yourself a beanbag and headphones and settle in for a night at the (outdoor) movies. Available for hotel and restaurant guests, the summer programme is packed out with musical classics, family-friendly favourites and new blockbusters.

Greenwich & Docklands International Festival

Come rain or shine, Greenwich & Docklands International Festival brings Londoners the very best of free outdoor theatre and performing arts productions. 

Performances take place across public spaces around the Royal Borough of Greenwich, East London and the City of London areas. This year’s theme is ‘Acts of Hope’, so you can expect acts to be offering up moments for reflection and a true celebration of creativity. 

Highlights include Ancient Futures, a ritual celebration that blends circus, West African folklore and Afrofuturism together; The Air Between Us, an aerial performance taking over Greenwich Park Hill; and Cygnus, a light and sound installation fusing robotics and romanticism.

BST Hyde Park

Set to take over Hyde Park once again is BST, the multi-weekend festival hosted by American Express. Since launching in 2013, the festival has brought legendary names to the capital, and this year’s line-up is just as impressive. 

Kicking off the festival season is P!NK with special guest appearances from Gwen Stefani. She’ll also be joined by the likes of Sam Ryder, Sam Tompkins, Gayle, Maddie Zahm, Tinashe, Lyra and more. 

Other big headlining events include K-pop icons Blackpink who’ll be making their UK festival debut, rock heroes Gun N’ Roses, singer-songwriter Lana Del Ray and the man, the myth and the legend Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

Regent’s Park Open-Air Theatre

Surrounded by greenery and trees, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre is one of the largest theatres in London, boasting a whopping 1,240 seats.

For those wanting a festival that’s a smidge tamer than the rest, look to Wilderness. This culturally diverse occasion in Oxfordshire sees revellers enjoying all things from music to wellbeing, talks and debates to feasting and dining. 

This year’s headliner’s consist of Christine and the Queens, The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim. For the foodies, you can expect dishes and talks from big names too – think Olia Hercules, Patrick Williams, Jeremy Lee and Dom Fernando.
