Jon Hamm Stars In New Crime Drama Your Friends And Neighbours
With the return of Severance and new shows like Prime Target and The Studio, there’s a lot on the way to Apple TV+ this year. Your Friends And Neighbours, slated to arrive on the streaming service this month, is joining that lineup.
Starring Jon Hamm (Mad Men) as a hedge fund manager in New York, whose desperation to stay at the top leads him into a life of crime, the show also stars Olivia Munn (The Newsroom), we’ve got our first look at the drama- here’s all you need to know:
What is Your Friends And Neighbours about?
Set in contemporary NYC, Your Friends And Neighbours focuses on a rich, powerful manager of a hedge fund who wears flashy suits and has a decidedly immoral streak. As the series begins, Andrew “Coop” Cooper (Hamm) is fired from his company in disgrace, for reasons yet to be revealed. It’s not the only source of turmoil in Cooper’s once idyllic life, with his wife recently having left him and divorced. As his world teeters on the brink of falling apart permanently and desperate to cling to what he knows, he decides the only way to keep up his lavish lifestyle is to go criminal. Cooper eyes the various houses of his neighbours in his affluent Westmont Village neighbourhood and devises ways of quietly looting them to line his own pockets.
What might seem like a foolproof plan to him though becomes complicated, as his ventures into the homes of his fellow rich and privileged reveals a whole host of secrets, hidden away from view. As he discovers more and more within these walls, Cooper realises he’s in danger from more than just the law for his thieving efforts, and that what he discovers could put his life in jeopardy.
Who else is in the cast?
Starring alongside Jon Hamm is Olivia Munn, who seems to be playing one of the neighbours Cooper targets, as well as Amanda Peet (Fatal Attraction) and Lena Hall (Snowpiercer) as other members of the Cooper family. While the nine-episode series has yet to be released, it’s already received an order from Apple for a second series- so don’t expect everything to be wrapped up yet. Your Friends And Neighbours arrives on Apple TV+ on 11th April.
