boho-fashion-2024

Some fashion week moments just stand out and this season Chloé AW24 was it. The fashion world was waiting with bated breath to see what new Creative Director Chemena Kamali would bring to the iconic fashion house and it was nothing short of brilliant. Harking back to what Chloé is known and loved for – grown-up bohemian brilliance – we take a look at the Chloé AW24 show and how it’s putting boho fashion style firmly back on the map.

The debut collection from Creative Director Chemena Kamali leant into what the French fashion house is known and loved for. Models took to the runway in a heady dose of ruffles, boho accessories, tough leather pieces and underwear-as-outerwear-style sheer slips. It was sexy, it was cool, it was effortless and it was very Chloé.

For Chloé diehards, the collection came with more than a hint of nostalgia. Anyone who grew up lusting after Kate MossGlastonbury looks or Sienna Miller’s feather-in-the-hair, scruffy Ugg boots and ra-ra skirt formula will identify with the bohemian attitude, but for AW24, under Kamali’s brilliant eye, boho suddenly feels more grown-up.

For Chloé diehards, the collection came with more than a hint of nostalgia.

The collection definitely echoes the glory years of Chloé (circa 2001 to 2006) when Phoebe Philo was at the helm, all blush sheer, floor-sweeping dresses juxtaposed with thigh-high leather boots; fringed cowboy jackets layering sweet pleated skirts; and dramatic velvet and PVC capes onto of ethereal lace. All of this was tied together with a stunning, 1970s-referencing colour palette, underpinned by black and white and popped with rich mulberry, earthy olive, pale blues and, of course, that signature Chloé blush pink.

Away from the late ‘60s / early ‘70s styling of the show, stripped back, you have some very wearable, timeless and beautiful pieces. This is what Chloé does best, clothes that women want to wear and that stand the test of time.

The collection won’t hit stores for some months yet, and when it does, you’ll need some deep pockets to invest. Until then, it looks like boho is firmly back on the fashion map and we cannot wait to dive in this summer. Scroll to shop some of our favourite pieces that lean into the look, from high-end investment brands to high-street wins.
