Thanks To Beyoncé Cowgirl Style Is Everywhere… And We Are Obsessed
Chaps, cowboy boots and Stetsons may have been all over the catwalks, but it was Beyoncé’s latest foray into country music that has us all snapping up the latest western fashion…
As a long time fan of all things country from Dolly Parton and line dancing to riding boots and rodeo hats, I can confirm, I am totally on board with this trend. Long may it ride! And I’m clearly not alone. Having created hats for not just the blockbuster Barbie movie, but a personalised hat for Beyoncé herself, the iconic country and western hat brand, Stetson, must also be overjoyed at this cowboy revival. The look is bold, yet feminine; picture fringed jackets over floaty dresses, chunky belts with embellished jeans and of course, all topped off with a Stetson.
It also helps that Bella Hadid has been filling her Insta with plenty of equine pics alongside her cowboy boyfriend. Take it from me, she even manages to make fringed chaps look appealing. If that’s a step too far, especially when you’re more than a canter away from a ranch, consider a fringed jacket instead. Head to Free People for one of the best selections. In fact, head there for all things western. Then pop to Anthropologie for even more boho meets Cali-cowgirl clothing.
There’s no denying it, popular culture has made the cowgirl pretty popular. Here’s a big thank you to Bella, Barbie and, of course, Beyoncé… Let Cowboy Carter be the soundtrack to your new wardrobe.
While this country style lends itself to long sun-kissed days, it’s set to remain a fashion favourite right through to autumn/winter ’24. Pharrell Williams, Louis Vuitton’s new Men’s Creative Director, brought us a Western wardrobe love story in his aw24 runway show (which Beyoncé happened to wear to the 2024 Grammys). It was an ode to the American frontier featuring bolos, collar tips, riveted denim and fringed coats. Meanwhile Stella McCartney, Molly Goddard and Chloé also offered up their own Americana tribute, from embroidered shirts with pointed yokes to leather pants. Similarly, Fausto Puglisi at Roberto Cavalli included desert florals, a bandana print maxi dress and Cowboy hats in the Pre-Fall 24 collection. Needless to say, western fashion is hot right now and for the foreseeable, so come take it to the floor now…

The modern day cowgirl is cool, laid-back and so totally effortless. Mix denims with floaty, floral dresses; don lived-in hats and step out in rugged riding boots. Let hair fall loose and go make-up free…
