Spring is firmly in bloom in London, and we’ve been taking in all the cherry blossom, wisteria and jasmine we can find. But the parks aren’t the only places you can find some floral displays – luxury Marylebone hotel The BoTree has unveiled a stunning immersive flower installation in collaboration with renowned florist and artist Hamish Powell.

About the installation

The six-week installation features Powell’s signature style, an interplay between structure and wildness. Sculptural silhouettes of flowers crafted from tillandsia moss are set amongst cascades of pink tillandsia garlands, hanging cacti, and mixed bromeliads. Towering palms frame the space, while exotic bromeliad plants bring an added vibrancy to the city. The installation continues inside, as a sculptural centrepiece brings the takeover into The BoTree’s lobby.

Powell, both an artist and florist, has long utilised flowers as both a scientific study and an artistic medium. His compositions have been seen in Vogue, Loewe, Hermés and Burberry, among others.

Powell said: “I’m thrilled to bring my work to The BoTree – the hotel’s structure, energy and spirit provide the perfect canvas for something truly wild and wonderful.”
