Cherry blossom season has arrived in London and, of course, we all know there are plenty of cherry blossom trees scattered across the city scattering their pretty little petals, but today we want to draw your attention to London’s restaurant scene that’s blooming with blossom after blossom.

From beautifully pink florals draping from the ceilings to afternoon teas inspired by the little petals, here are seven restaurants in full bloom for cherry blossom season in London.

Nobu

NOBU London set on the iconic Old Park Lane was the first European venture for the world-renowned Japanese Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, and today remains one of the top restaurants in the thriving London culinary scene serving up a new style of Japanese cuisine, where traditional Japanese techniques meet Peruvian flavours. This blossom, season head down to experience traditional Japanese dishes and cocktails.

ROKA

When you think of cherry blossoms, you may think of Japan – visiting during Sakura season is on the bucket list for most. For a taste of the Hanami scene in London,  ROKA Charlotte Street probably springs to mind. Nestled downstairs in their underground cocktail bar, Shochu lies a cherry blossom-filled haven. This March, it will be serving a new cocktail, the Sakura 75, which combines Roku gin, sakura tea and yuzu cordial with a dash of koji, and is topped with champagne.

Los Mochis

Where Tokyo meets Tulum, Los Mochis Notting Hill is celebrating cherry blossom season with a twist. The pan-pacific Mexican-Japanese restaurant will be adorned with a beautiful Sakura tree facade so you can experience the best of Japanese cuisine with fiery Mexican energy. There are some limited-edition options too, including the Sakura Vesper cocktail with Grey Goose vodka, Bombay Premier Cru, Dewazakura Ginjo sake, cherry blossom and Oyster Leaf and the Sakura Blossom Mousse with cherry mousse, cherry and jasmine tea jelly, matcha sponge

Tattu

This cherry blossom season Tattu is going all out with a cocktail special. The ‘Ruby Rose Fizz’ features cherry blossom Everleaf Mountain, yuzu and Laurent-Perrier Rosé.

With locations across the UK, Tattu is renowned for its cherry blossom installations, although the London location takes its interiors up a notch with a more refined aesthetic. Head here for modern Chinese dishes with a twist.

Sticks’n’Sushi

Available from 27th March to 27th April, enjoy creative cocktails and Sakura-inspired dishes in honour of hanami, the Japanese tradition of enjoying cherry blossom in bloom at Sticks’n’Sushi.

Complete with lobster, avocado, Sakura rice, miso aioli and lumpfish roe, indulge in the Sakura House Roll, or for the ultimate sweet treat, opt for the perfectly pink Sakura Cherī Fondant. A selection of limited-edition cocktails with a delicate floral twist will be available, including Beneath the Sakura Tree with Pisco Aba, St-Germain and Pandan foam and Sakura Vesper with Botanist Gin, Sake Ono Junmai Daiginjo, olive brine and lemon oil.

Mei Ume

Trinity Square’s Mei Ume is all about the cherry blossom. Each year the restaurant gets dressed up to celebrate Hanami, the Japanese tradition of welcoming spring and enjoy the transient beauty of cherry blossom season. It’s worth experiencing after you’ve snapped a photo at one of London’s outdoor blossom destinations.

Cherry On

Home of all things cherry, Cherry On is the perfect place to indulge in a sweet treat, all surrounded by gorgeous cherry blossom-inspired decor. The Ivy Asia

If there is a restaurant that really embraces cherry blossom season, it is The Ivy Asia – they have whole rooms dedicated to Sakura decked out with pink flowers.

The Sakura room holds 24 seated guests, or 40 standing, where you can host private experiences tasting signature sashimi, gyoza, aromatic duck and much more.

Roketsu

Next month guests can immerse themselves in a flavourful and culturally rich Kaiseki experience, with dishes served on ceramics made by artist Takako Imahashi, the fourth-generation ceramics master of the renowned Kiko Kiln from Kyoto.

Aside from the restaurant being decorated with the iconic cherry blossom, nods to the Hanami tradition will be presented throughout the dining experience, both in the ceramics used and on the hand-drawn menus. The ingredients present in each of the nine Kaiseki courses will be at their peak seasonality, such as the white asparagus soup which kicks off the dining experience with the Sakizuke course, or the red mullet Sakura-mushi which characterises the Furamono course.

Zuma

Soak up Sakura season by sitting under a waterfall of pale-pink cherry blossoms at Zuma, the izakaya restaurant in Knightsbridge. Whether you’re eating in the main dining area, the sushi and robata table or a more private tosho table, the menu promises authentic Japanese cuisine with its front foot forward in beautiful surroundings.

Comptoir Lianais 

Over in Chelsea, there’s a cosy corner with your name on it. One step inside Comptoir Libanais and your gaze is immediately drawn to the playful interiors and vibrant colour scheme. We, however, want to draw your attention to the cherry blossom booth nuzzled in its own cosy corner. This little spot is bursting with florals and colour, and provides the perfect spot to while away your time daydreaming into night.
