The Unexpected Spot Named As The UK’s #1 Shopping Destination

If you thought Canary Wharf was just bankers in suits, think again. Over the past few years, the area has transformed into a go-to spot for shopping, eating, drinking and unwinding. From big brands to quirky independents, it is now packed with places worth exploring. It was even awarded the status of the UK’s number 1 shopping destination by Green Street last year, and the buzz is only getting bigger in 2025.
In Partnership with Canary Wharf
The Wharf has been transformed into a vibrant hub of style, flavour, and experience. Think the refined elegance of Diptyque, the independent, community feel of The Flower Club, and the chic, curated experience of The Island Studio and Arc. It’s also become one of London’s premier foodie destinations, from big names like Dishoom, Roe and Big Mamma Group’s new opening Barbarella, to the Italian charm of Lina Stores and Din Tai Fung. Canary Wharf is now not just a place to shop or dine, but as a cultural and lifestyle destination in its own right. Read on to see just some of our top picks and new arrivals for you to plan your visit.

Diptyque
Founded in Saint-Germain, Paris, in 1961, Diptyque creates perfumes, scented skincare, and decorative objects for the home. Each piece is designed to spark imagination and offer a moment of escape. Blending nature with art, and tradition with creativity, Diptyque is the brand loved by editors and shoppers far and wide.
“Diptyque has always been one of my favourite shops, not just for their beautifully designed products but for the way their scents can transform a room into something deeply personal.

Sostrene Grene
Søstrene Grene, established in Denmark in 1973, offers a wide range of products for the home, creative projects, and life’s everyday celebrations. From small furniture and homeware to crafting materials and seasonal finds, the store’s ever-changing assortment ensures there’s always something new to discover.
I love Søstrene Grene because it has this affordable, effortless chic that feels so Scandinavian! Walking through the store always reminds me of shopping in Copenhagen or Norway—calm, cozy, and beautifully simple.

Arc

The social wellness movement that has transformed North America is now set to redefine London’s wellness scene. ARC, a new urban wellness brand, has opened in Canary Wharf, introducing a concept that includes contrast therapy, and immersive sauna, ice bath and lounge experiences.
The Island Studio
This premium boutique studio, filled with natural light and thoughtful design, offers a distinctive approach to movement. Reformer Pilates here goes beyond exercise; it’s a practice that lifts mood, eases tension, and restores energy. The space is welcoming to all, yet designed for those seeking something exceptional: a place to move freely, connect deeply, and recharge fully within the city.
Food & Drink
Barbarella
Barbarella is Big Mamma’s Italian hideaway, infused with playful ‘70s glamour. Located in the iconic YY Building and opening onto the waters of Eden Dock, the ground floor welcomes guests into a tropical-inspired interior. From the open kitchen, diners can enjoy wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, fresh pasta, and homemade dolci, all crafted with the signature warmth and flair of Barbarella.
I am a huge fan of the Big Mamma restaurants. The food is a medley of Mediterranean deliciousness, but the decor is… wow. Take my word for it. This is Italian dining at its best.

Roe
As for Roe, the follow-up to Fallow makes for an intelligent refinement of the brand. A little less hectic, a little more space, and self-assured. The massive 500-seater serves a delicious mix of cocktails, British favourites, and out-of-the-box thinking.
The genius of Roe lies in how it manages to retain a mass-market appeal while dabbling in experimental cooking. It can both fill a restaurant this size, in this location with a more weighted slant towards a corporate demographic and drag foodies out into unfamiliar surroundings.
Lina Stores
Located in Crossrail Place, Lina Stores Canary Wharf brings together the very best of Lina Stores under one roof. Guests can enjoy fresh, homemade pasta, antipasti, secondi, and dolci for lunch and dinner every day. The ground-floor delicatessen opens in the morning with strong Italian coffee, breakfast panini, and cakes, then serves salads and sandwiches at lunchtime for a quick and delicious meal on the go. At the back, Bar Lina offers modern twists on classic Italian cocktails, keeping the atmosphere lively late into the night.
Lina Stores is my go-to spot for an affordable weekday dinner. Order a spread of antipasti and pastas to share, and always end with their signature Pistachio Cannolo. At the Canary Wharf location, don’t miss Bar Lina tucked away at the back of the restaurant – their Negroni or Peach Bellini always hit the spot!
