Dungarees Are Cool Again. These Are The Ones We’re Wearing In 2024
We’re all loving our denims right now, but stylish dungarees are our latest obsession. Comfy, laid-back and the stylista’s go-to, we’ve picked out our faves…
For me, slouchy dungarees couldn’t be more perfect. These bib-front denims offer a relaxed spring vibe that exudes bohemian style. Not only favoured by fashion influencers, but A-listers, too. We’re talking Hailey Bieber. Olivia Wilde and Kendall Jenner. It also helps that the Western look is having its moment – thanks Beyoncé. So bring on those overalls.
As for styling, you’ve got many options. Embrace the boyish cuteness of the situation much like content creator, Julia Benz, and wear with a T-shirt or vest and trainers. Or opt for a more feminine, almost Parisian twist à la Liv Purvis and pop on a frilled blouse and ballet pumps. Both totally effortless, yet seriously cool. If, like me, you’re more than a little obsessed with Cowboy Core, then cowboy boots really are a must. Alternatively, make like stylist, Estelle Pigault Chemouny, and wear with this spring’s other big trend, the humble boat shoe.
Personally, I’ve been more than excited about the dungarees at Free People; from loose fit to barrel leg, there’s a cut for everyone. Then there’s one of my new fave shops, Balzac Paris – their leopard print overalls are crying out to be snapped up.
Madewell is another label that does good jeans and its dungarees are no exception – the ’90s straight overalls might accidentally fall into my shopping basket. If you’re after a more summery take on the trend, then look to Ganni, Reformation or Claudie Pierlot for their lighter washes. Then, if still in doubt, swoop back around to Free People…
