Gordon Ramsay Protégé To Open Restaurant At Le Gavroche Site
Matt Abé, one of Gordon Ramsay‘s star protégés, and Chef Patron at the three Michelin-starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, will open his own restaurant at 43 Upper Book Street, the site of one of London’s most famous French restaurants, Le Gavroche.
Gordon Ramsay has secured a 15-year lease on the property, where Abé will open his first solo venture later this year. Le Gavroche closed after 56 years in January 2024, with Chef Michel Roux taking over from his father in 1991. It is famed in haute cuisine and has seen many high-profile chefs pass through, including Marco Pierre White, Marcus Wareing, Monica Galetti, and Ramsay himself. Roux still owns the naming rights, so the new restaurant will be under a different guise. Abé will also continue to consult for Gordon Ramsay Restaurants.
