Hair Botox: The In-Salon Hair Treatment Set To Be Huge In 2023

Don’t panic, this innovative new hair treatment that’s trending all over social media and getting flyaways to flatten does NOT involve a needle or any other sharp instrument as its name suggests. Instead, it’s completely pain-free, and the most game-changing hair treatment we’ve seen since keratin blow-dries were first introduced over a decade ago. It promises to give you the smoothest and glossiest hair ever and shaves substantial minutes off styling your hair at home. Tick, tick, tick. Want to know more? We spoke to hairstylist and founder of Hair Botox, Ondine Cowley to get the full lowdown. You heard it here first…
Why have this treatment?
Hair Botox is the new way to straighten hair without any dryness and with incredibly good ingredients that contain no damaging formaldehyde and no keratin. It conditions the hair, improves texture, repairs broken hair and is free from any nasties. Plus, there’s no downtime or lingering smell which is often the case with keratin treatments.
Who is it best for?
Anyone! From straight hair that wants extra smoothness and shine, curly hair that wants to tame frizz, to afro hair that wants to relax curls and manage hair better. Any length, any style, any colour, any age, it works.
Will it remove natural curls forever?
Absolutely not. It will certainly relax your curls while the treatment is on your hair, but the curl will bounce back as the old hair sheds (which is natural for all of us).
How does the treatment work?
Hair Botox works by filling in any broken or thin areas on each hair strand to make hair appear fuller and more lustrous. The process itself is a similar to any keratin treatment, but with no downtime and most importantly no damage to your hair. The whole treatment takes around two and a half hours depending on how much hair you have. The longer and thicker your hair, the more time-consuming the treatment.
How long does the treatment last for?
It lasts for three to six months, but this does vary according to how fast your hair grows and when your new roots start to show.
How often can you have the treatment? And do you need to take a break in between treatments?
As the treatment has no harmful chemicals, hair can be treated as regularly as you want.
There’s also no downtime, after treating your hair, you can wash, colour, cut your hair immediately afterwards if you so wish.
How much does it cost?
Prices for a full treatment start from around £300+ depending on the salon and stylist.
Where can you get Hair Botox?
“I work from Gielly Green hair salon in London’s Marylebone, I’ve been applying the treatment for four years, however my close colleague Charlotte Williams also does the treatment!” admits Ondine. It’s important to be aware that there is a black market for the treatment and plenty of copycat products out there. To ensure you get the real deal, Ondine is the main supplier of the original Hair Botox, so if you’re looking for a treatment outside of London, find a trusted location on www.hairbotox.org.
