Jen Azoulay proves that a pair of silver trousers can be a fall essential. For a date-night or a cool Christmas party look that requires little effort but offers maximum impact, keep the rest of the look fairly simple with a cosy black cashmere knit, kitten heels and some mega Pearl Octopuss.y statement earrings.

Look 2 – Add Some Denim

A denim shirt will always make an outfit more grounded, whether that’s layering under an oversized blazer or pairing with some tougher leather pants. The same goes for SS23’s playful metallic hues. The key here is layering, so start with a good basic – we love Uniqlo’s  cosy and clevere Heattech polos, slipped under an oversized denim shirt and paired with a looser fit silver trouser. Finish off with retro-inspired sunnies and this season’s favourite cowboy boots.

Look 3 – Toughen With Tailoring

Make silver trousers feel a little more sober with some key tailoring. An oversized blazer, fine knit and polished accessories will keep things on the right side of statement, whilst a pair of New Balance dad sneakers will ensure the look isn’t too try hard.

Look 4 – Into The Evening

There is something so effortless about an oversized white shirt in the evening. Elevate it with a snip of lacy pretty lingerie poking out from beneath – we love Kiki De Montparnasse, Anine Bing and H&M on the high street for soft triangle bras. Add an edgy accessory like a chunky chain necklace to balance out the romanticism of the lace.

Look 5 – Make It Glam

Add some old school glamour to an otherwise modern look with a faux fur cropped jacket. Point-toe heels or slouchy boots will make this evening-appropriate, but we love it most paired with a simple pair of Sambas for an unexpected cool-girl feel.

Look 6 – Add A Pop Of Colour

Make like the Scandinavian style influencers and lean into the fun vibes of a pair of silver trousers. pair with a quirky statement knit and this season’s colourful trainers. An oversized grey wool coat will add a little polish to the look and keep you warm on dog walks, Christmas market visits and beyond.
