Focusing on imagery in tennis, Practice Makes Purrfect takes a look at the artist’s trademark humour and parallels it against ideas of competition and repetition. Enhanced through the lack of a crowd or opponent, this series looks at the fundaments behind competition with oneself.

The New Podcast To Listen To: Hollywood Exiles

A brand new podcast from BBC World Service and CBC, Hollywood Exiles takes a deeper look at how Charlie Chaplin became a key figure in the FBI campaign delving into communism in Hollywood.

From long-lost high school sweethearts to a relationship-on-the-rocks, this timeless romantic comedy will win you over with its wit.

Returning for its eighth year, Canary Wharf is set once again to be transformed into a winter light festival. This giant outdoor art exhibition brings together works from leading light artists from around the world for an epic journey. 

Expect to uncover 12 mesmerising installations, as well as Canary Wharf’s popular permanent light artworks, exploring the juxtaposition of nature and technology. 

After all, who said light displays had to be solely reserved for Christmas?

The New TV Series To Binge: Criminal Record 

If you love a detective TV series, you’ll want to bookmark AppleTV+’s latest venture into the genre. Criminal Record, landing on the stream from 12th January, will see Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi take the reigns, playing a veteran detective drawn into a new high-profile case. 

Meanwhile, an up-and-coming Detective Sgt June (Cush Jumbo) is contacted by an anonymous source and is working on the same case. Rather than coming together, they go head-to-head, clashing over methods and how to investigate the unusual case.
