Like London busses, incredible hotels tend to come all at once (unless we’re talking about the 44, the daily bane of my life, which seemingly never comes), and 2018 looks like it’s going to be a bumper year, now you just need to decide which bus to catch. Here are some hotels that are opening in the next few months that are getting us excited. Fancy the new Nobu hotel? Hong Kong’s latest hotspot or the surprising luxury mountain retreat in Rwanda? Nobu Ventures Into Hotels
Restaurant group Nobu have not only dipped a foot into the hotel industry, they’ve gone in up to their shoulders… and it’s totally paid off. The restaurants, famous for their top-end sushi and Japanese menus, opened their first hotel in Ibiza last year, offering the same uncompromising approach to quality and hospitality that have become the hall mark of their restaurants. The result was a resounding success, and this March they will open their second hotel in Marbella, Spain.
Guests can expect a spa, tennis club, a Dave Thomas designed golf-course and an equestrian centre, not to mention the secluded swimming pool and bar as well as an exclusive beach and sunset DJ sessions. And, of course, all the usual Nobu signature dishes.

Tel Aviv's Getting A W Hotel
W Hotels, that most contemporary of hotel groups, are opening a new venue, this time in Tel Aviv, Israel. The party capital on the Mediterranean is already noted for its heady nightlife, excellent restaurants and chilled out lifestyle, making it the perfect pairing for W Hotels.
The restored neoclassical convent and hospital in the old town area of Jaffa will offer minimalist luxury across 127 rooms. Built on 12th century ruins, which will be integrated into the design, this looks to be the height of luxury and the perfect place to explore Tel Aviv from.

Find Shangri-La In Oman
Oman, that oft overlooked gem on the Arabian Peninsula, is already home to a fantastic selection of hotels which are perfect for a relaxed beach holiday or soaking up the culture, labyrinthine souks and ancient architecture of the Sultanate.
The Shangri-La hotel has undergone a revamp, with the Shangri-La Al Husn set to launch as a standalone hotel. It’s perched on a cliff dramatically overlooking the Gulf of Oman, with a mountain range forming the backdrop to this remarkable hotel. Al Husn translates as ‘the castle’ and within the castle’s walls are all manner of delights, including restaurants, the Hareer Spa by L’Occitane and private beach, plus all the advantages and facilities of the slightly less (but still very) exclusive of the nearby Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah.

Luxury Hong Kong Style
Opening this week, The Murray is Hong Kong’s newest and most exclusive hotel. Designed by Sir Norman Foster’s Foster+Partners the 336-room hotel looks fantastic, itself a redesign of the award-winning existing 1969 structure.
The hotel boasts awesome views of the city, set next to Hong Kong Park and Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens, while inside the facilities are second-to-none. With no fewer than 5 restaurants and bars, this is a foodie destination in itself, including a new opening for the Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant, Guo Fu Lou.

Como To Hilton Como
Hilton has arrived on Lake Como with a rooftop pool and to-die-for views. The modern design includes floor-to-ceiling windows, stylish black, white and glass furnishings and classic parquet floors.
The rooftop infinity pool, overlooking the lake and with its whirlpool and solarium, may offer the best press-shots but inside the all-day dining Terazza 241, and sky bar will offer a great selection of food and cocktails and compliment the more formal, ground floor, restaurant Satin. Como itself is increasingly popular and remains achingly cool in a classic, George Clooney sort of a way. Well worth a visit in 2018.

Gorillas In The Mist
Rwanda mightn’t be the first place on your bucket list, but this often-overlooked destination is also one of the world’s most stunning. The backdrop to classic film Gorillas In The Mist, the views are spectactular in the way only Africa can deliver.
Opening later this year, The Gorilla’s Nest is the lastest opening from luxury hotelliers One & Only and looks set to be nearly as impressive as the surroundings. Set at the foothills of the Virunga volcanoes the hotel will be perfect for gorilla tracking and enjoying nature.
