London’s Best Women-Only Private Members’ Clubs

London is positively brimming with private members’ clubs; from The Century Club discreetly tucked away behind Shaftesbury Avenue and Quo Vadis house in a former brothel, to Annabel’s – the ultimate pin-up girl when it comes to a place to escape to, membership in hand. Yet it appears the turn of the year has brought with it a female empowered trough of women-only offerings slowly scattering their influence across the city.

From a delve into what’s on offer, the over-arching theme seems to be impeccably designed spaces, the bulk of which, with their pastel additions, velvet seats and foliage, appear akin to an Oliver Bonas show home – not that we’re complaining! The spaces make for idyllic spots to workout, hangout, network, eat, drink and be oh, so merry, injecting some much-needed girl time into the popular pastime that is the private members’ club.

The AllBright

The AllBright

Bright Ideas

One noteworthy offerings to tick off your membership list includes a clubhouse from the people behind the pioneering Allbright professional network sitting snug inside a five-storey Georgian Townhouse and a newly opened club on Maddox Street in the heart of Mayfair. The clubs are created by women for women and seek to provide a like minded community where new opportunities are created every day, from serendipitous meetings to programmed events.

Food and drink comes from the hand of Executive Chef, Sabrina Gidda, whose accolades include featuring on the BBC’s Great British Menu. You’ll feast on refined twists on classics alongside bespoke cocktails and an alluring wine list. What’s more, the new Maddox Street venue boasts the first and only wellness and beauty destination exclusively for women in Mayfair. It’s awash with a state-of-the-art fitness studio and holistic wellness rooms, as well as a hair and beauty salon. In other words, you can rustle yourself up Legally Blonde style before heading out for lunch.

Founding members include Mary Katrantzou, Naomie Harris, and Martha Lane Fox, and we think you should grab yourself a space too!
