Whilst we could insert various puns here about cocktail making, shaking things up and drinking, we know that all you care about are cocktails and so we’ll leave you in peace to peruse this coveted cocktail guide that we’ve put together in homage of the terrifically wonderful London Cocktail Week.
P.s. The week runs from Friday 4th until Sunday 13th of October, and all ya need to do is grab a £10 Festival Pass now to the biggest cocktail celebration in the world to enjoy £6 cocktails in 300 bars. We couldn’t write about all 300 bars, obvs, but here are some of our favourites (The Iris Bar at The Gherkin and Robata aren’t included in the £6 deal but have some cracking cocktails prepped for LCW)…
Are you a fan of gherkins? Good, because we’ve got one for you and it’s housing a whole load of £8 cocktails for Cocktail we… Oh, sorry, cocktail MONTH!
Oui madame, the Gherkin doesn’t do things in half measure and are planning to turn a week into a month with their darling cocktail offerings at the Iris Bar which, might we add, is at the very top of the Gherkin… views for days! Running until the 31st of October, enjoy Aperol Spritz, Gherkin Spritz and Negroni Spritz for £8. Awesome!

This Knightsbridge venue oozes allure, and transports guests to a glamorous setting huddled away from the sound of the street. Join South Place for a terrific old time on a terrace as they offer up some awesome London Cocktail Week masterclasses. We’re talking an Angler X Talisker Wild Cocktail masterclass with Tanqueray No.Ten and a Gin Jungle that’ll appeal to the gin connoisseur masses and whisky fiends worldwide.
Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake-a Shake It!
Pop down to Sea Containers for a razzmatazz of cocktail cacophony that includes a takeover at Lyaness where a Circle Fizz featuring Patron will be whipped up for the whole week. Uh-oh, sounds like we’re going to have to slurp a few of those down…
Plus, in the same building (yippee), 12th Knot are catering to every cocktail lover with three fab cocktails. The one we’ve got our eye on is the Sanshool, a long drink with fruity notes and a tongue-tingling finish. We’re en route…
It’s all in the name at this snazzy Soho spot. ROBATA, new(ish) to Soho, seeks to pop Asian flair on par with 21st century creativity using its robata charcoal cooking methods, championing sharing plates and their famed robata skewers. And, why not join them for a cocktail alongside some epic food this LCW?
We’re talking sake-based cocktails that’ll whet the palette for some awesome skewers, from a Sake Mojito with Sawanotsuru sake, jasmine syrup, lime juice and mint leaves, to the Ume Ocha with Umeshu plum sake, pineapple juice, peach liqueur and Sakura tea foam. Our mouths are literally watering! And, as three is most definitely not a crowd, there’ll be a lip-smacking Umetini with Roku gin, Umeshu plum sake and orange bitters. This nifty little spot knows a thing or two about sake, so if that ruffles your feathers then ROBATA is the one!
Kimpton Fitzroy aren’t letting LCW pass by lightly. Oh, no. They’ve pulled out all the stops with a decadent drinking experience like no other at their Fitz’s bar! Picture this; live music will be the soundtrack to your sipping on Friday 4th of October as Kimpton Fitzroy collaborate with award-winning New York bar Katana Kitten and, on the 6th of October, gin brand Stranger & Sons, to flood tables with an eclectic array of coveted cocktails.
On the Friday (4th), innovative Japanese-inspired cocktails will be the order of the evening, with Katana Kitten’s legendary Masahiro Urushido and Fitz’s Sean Fennelly getting playful with their creations which include Hebi Kami’ Ahus Akvavit, a light-hearted riff on a ‘Snakebite & Black’ and Katana Kitten’s infamous ‘Umami Situation’, a bizarre, delicious dish-cum-cocktail theatrically prepared tableside from sake, salted lemon and Atlantic prawn heads.
And, if you’re still feeling ballsy after a busy Friday enjoying Fitz’s tipples then head down again on Sunday 6th October as they present The Queens, The Pickle & The Police, as Indian gin company Stranger & Sons rustle up a perfume stall where guests will smell the perfumes and identify the style of drink and fragrance notes that they will be able to experience at the bar.
Well, we’re positively thirsty and positively hungry and plan on heading down to Fitz’s to sort this out!
The St James Bar at Sofitel London St James is a decadent dream come true, and makes for a lively spot away from madding crowds to enjoy a cocktail this LCW!
