What To Do This Weekend: 10th – 12th November
The countdown has begun and we’re yearning for six o’clock on Friday to come as fast as it possibly can. This weekend, as ever, we’re spoilt for choice and can choose to be good (Be:Fit East by West health and wellness festival) or bad (Coq d’Argent bottomless brunch with free-flowing Moet springs to mind). Or why not race your favourite dip recipe against stiff competition at Torshi at Five Miles? Either way, it’ll be over way too soon and before you know it we’ll be back on Monday and wondering how on earth it sped by so fast!
Coq d'Argent
Bottomless brunch on the roof
To the silver chicken for bottomless brunch! City stalwart Coq d’Argent are making the most of their stunning views with a Saturday brunch menu, live music and endless Moet et Chandon. The French menu (Le Brunch) gives a distinctive Francophile twist on traditional brunch dishes, with hors d’oeuvres including Oeufs pochés Avocat or Tartare de chevreuil (which includes venison and fried quail’s eggs) and Terrine de cochon while mains include treats like Gauffre au bacon, faux-filet and our personal favourite, Moules Frites. Not to mention desserts like Ananas et passion, fondant au chocolat and Pomme Verte. All washed down with pretty much endless Moet. What’s not to like?

Hope and Anchor
Hope and Anchor launch
Grand Union in Brixton have hauled up the anchor and given us new hope, with a name-change (it’s now The Hope and Anchor, hence the clunky set-up), a brand new vibe and new ownership. As a new part of the Youngs group they’ve had a revamp and they’ve winterproofed their fantastic garden with a tent-style roof, a fire pit, tiki huts and street food.

The Library
New Restaurant at County Hall
The Marriott County Hall have just opened their new restaurant, The Library. The brand new eatery channels the historical significance of the building, from the 1920s opulence to the battle-scars of weathering attacks from both the Nazis in the blitz and Margaret Thatcher in the ’80s (she famously closed down Ken Livingstone’s Greater London Council, which was based in the building). But it also celebrates the modern face of County Hall, overlooking both parliament and Big Ben as well as the London Eye. And The Library opens this weekend.
Opens Friday 10th November
