Oh hey weekend! We’re giving you the silent treatment because it’s been four days now and we still haven’t heard a word from you. And yet now here you are, promising all sorts of fun events out of the blue and, well, we just don’t have the time to pack them all in.
That said, we’re going to have a little scroll and see what you’ve got on offer… but don’t think you’re getting away with ghosting us!
National Geographic’s inaugural food festival arrives in town on 20th July. Enjoy three days of ‘travelling’ without ever leaving London’s Business Design Centre, via the medium of great food. The main stage will be alive with chefs, including iconic French chef Raymond Blanc, jostling with an impressive roster of food personalities like John Torode and Andi Oliver as well as more top chefs, among them Gennaro Contaldo, Adam Handling and Zoe Adjonyo, all presenting live cooking demos as they go.
As well as chefs, punters can look forward to meeting authors, all experts in their fields, from journalist Felicity Cloake, who will be taking to the main stage to talk about her book, One More Croissant for the Road, to the likes of Kay Plunkett Hogge, Asma Khan, John Gregory Smith, Tommy Barnes and Theo Michael; all imparting their knowledge and advice on a range of foodie subjects.
2oth-21st of July
You’d be a luna-tic not to attend a week filled with moon-inspired cocktail masterclasses, talks headed by Margaret Atwood and more at, yep you guessed it, the Moon Festival! Taking place in Greenwich, fill your space-boots with all things art, music, politics, astronomy and gastronomy – all of which will be seen through a lunar lens.
After a whopping refurb, The Waterfront in Wandsworth has decided to celebrate by holding a gin festival. Live music will excite the ears while gin experts will be on-hand representing big national names such as Tanqueray, Hendrick’s and Bombay Sapphire. Plus expect London gin favourites including Half Hitch, Hayman’s and Sipsmith for a festival that’ll make for some good old fashioned gin-infused fun this Saturday. There’ll be tastings galore, all housed on the new river facing terrace. Fancy a snack? Gorge on a seasonal, ethically sourced menu with highlights of grilled king prawns, smoked chicken and pea croquettes, and sharers of BBQ Dorset lamb and seafood platters.
Saturday 20th July from 12-5pm
Ok, a bit of an odd one, but then again weekends sometimes require a bit of crazy, right? Fuller’s Kitchen part of Fuller’s pubs have just launched the whackiest ice-cream offering. Originally introduced for National Ice Cream day, they’ve decided to keep it running as a pop-up for the next couple of weeks. So what the heck is it? Well… imagine buffalo milk ice-cream meets fried chicken, chips and hot sauce and you’ve hit the nail on the head… and no, we’re not kidding! Located next to Farringdon’s Conductor pub, you’ll find this #foodporn-esque feast ready for the taking.
While vegetarians and vegans alike are probably shaking their heads wondering where their own weird ice-cream creation is, fear not! A vegan chocolate option made with coconut milk will also be available! If, however, you’re more of a Mr Whippy to-go type of guy or gal then rest easy knowing boozy ice cream floats and Build-Your-Own stations are also available.
Thank us later for giving you the inside scoop…
Running until the 31st of July
On the topic of ice-cream, here’s some more! This time it’s the turn of Swingers West End, whose on-site heavenly, Gelateria, Hackney Gelato, has just launched sorbet milkshakes (OMG!), exclusive ice-cream serves and plenty more. Putt your tongue away, grab your golf club and enjoy a weekend filled with cream and balls…

The Sheraton Grand London Park Lane has shaken things up this summer, notably thanks to limoncello brand Pococello who are bringing nine new dishes and four new cocktails to the table! Basically, if you can’t get to the Amalfi Coast this summer despite refreshing Sky Scanner one too many times, then live vicariously through some lemon drinks in Mayfair – sorted!
Expect a limoncello etiquette guide, chef’s table experiences and a limoncello making masterclass, and a whole load of cocktails. All you have to do is find out more!
Until the 30th of September
Art enthusiasts are invited to a unique Banksy show this weekend! Original pieces by the street artist will be on display at a special pop-up gallery, with visitors able to purchase gifts and memorabilia galore. Limited edition prints of some of Banksy’s most famous works will also be available to buy, and who knows, maybe he himself will make an appearance… although we’ll have no idea who to look out for!
19th-21st of July

Boozers look away… Club Soda is hosting its sixth Mindful Drinking Festival this month in support of those who wish to rethink or revamp their drinking habits. Ok, Ok, granted this image doesn’t exactly reflect a pool by night – but try finding people swimming about at midnight that doesn’t include some sort of Spring Break angle. Hampton Pool is in fact running midnight swimming lessons and we ain’t kidding! It’s in a heated pool, don’t worry, so you can butterfly yourselves silly and stay warm at the same time. Find out more here!
Fancy watching classic horror The Blair Witch Project in an eerie hidden Masonic Temple? Of course you do. When City lifestyle hotel Andaz London Liverpool Street teamed up with the East End Film Festival we knew great things were on the horizon, or the screen if you will, and the dark art of horror filmmaking will be taking screen-centre. Snaking between old school classics to contemporary productions, the eerie experiences will this weekend turn to The Blair Witch Project. That’s #weekendgoals right there!
Don’t worry, there’ll be plenty of seats to hide behind…
Screenings from 19.30pm – 22.30pm

Oh yes, The Berkeley has been up to its old tricks again and this time it’s with the launch of brand new bar and terrace at The Berkeley. You’ll soon be feeling like a bougie connoisseur, indulging in a fine selection of rare wines, Champagnes and dark spirits, yippee! There’s a really intimate feel to this new bar, offering a sense of old-world glamour, plus it’s got its own terrace for the warmer evenings overlooking beautiful Belgravia. The space totally gives off ’70s vibes thanks to the decor, too (what’s not to love?). The bar is hewn from a stunning walnut wood, taken from a 300-year-old tree from the Fullback Estate, Lincolnshire and it’s coupled with a colour palette of soft corals, creams and pinks to offset its earthy richness.
So, given all of that, why not check it out for yourselves this weekend?
