Woop-De-Doo, Here’s Some Weekend Plans For You
Oh hey weekend! We’re giving you the silent treatment because it’s been four days now and we still haven’t heard a word from you. And yet now here you are, promising all sorts of fun events out of the blue and, well, we just don’t have the time to pack them all in.
That said, we’re going to have a little scroll and see what you’ve got on offer… but don’t think you’re getting away with ghosting us!
National Geographic Traveller Food Festival
National Geographic’s inaugural food festival arrives in town on 20th July. Enjoy three days of ‘travelling’ without ever leaving London’s Business Design Centre, via the medium of great food. The main stage will be alive with chefs, including iconic French chef Raymond Blanc, jostling with an impressive roster of food personalities like John Torode and Andi Oliver as well as more top chefs, among them Gennaro Contaldo, Adam Handling and Zoe Adjonyo, all presenting live cooking demos as they go.
As well as chefs, punters can look forward to meeting authors, all experts in their fields, from journalist Felicity Cloake, who will be taking to the main stage to talk about her book, One More Croissant for the Road, to the likes of Kay Plunkett Hogge, Asma Khan, John Gregory Smith, Tommy Barnes and Theo Michael; all imparting their knowledge and advice on a range of foodie subjects.

Have You Ever Fancied Ice Cream Topped With Hot Sauce?
Ok, a bit of an odd one, but then again weekends sometimes require a bit of crazy, right? Fuller’s Kitchen part of Fuller’s pubs have just launched the whackiest ice-cream offering. Originally introduced for National Ice Cream day, they’ve decided to keep it running as a pop-up for the next couple of weeks. So what the heck is it? Well… imagine buffalo milk ice-cream meets fried chicken, chips and hot sauce and you’ve hit the nail on the head… and no, we’re not kidding! Located next to Farringdon’s Conductor pub, you’ll find this #foodporn-esque feast ready for the taking.
While vegetarians and vegans alike are probably shaking their heads wondering where their own weird ice-cream creation is, fear not! A vegan chocolate option made with coconut milk will also be available! If, however, you’re more of a Mr Whippy to-go type of guy or gal then rest easy knowing boozy ice cream floats and Build-Your-Own stations are also available.
Thank us later for giving you the inside scoop…

The Berkeley
Oh yes, The Berkeley has been up to its old tricks again and this time it’s with the launch of brand new bar and terrace at The Berkeley. You’ll soon be feeling like a bougie connoisseur, indulging in a fine selection of rare wines, Champagnes and dark spirits, yippee! There’s a really intimate feel to this new bar, offering a sense of old-world glamour, plus it’s got its own terrace for the warmer evenings overlooking beautiful Belgravia. The space totally gives off ’70s vibes thanks to the decor, too (what’s not to love?). The bar is hewn from a stunning walnut wood, taken from a 300-year-old tree from the Fullback Estate, Lincolnshire and it’s coupled with a colour palette of soft corals, creams and pinks to offset its earthy richness.
So, given all of that, why not check it out for yourselves this weekend?
