NGL, we know it’s looking pretty gloomy out there, and the weekend seems to be all about the rain as far as weather reports can tell…however, London has plenty going on indoors. We’re talking exhibitions, art, bar takeovers, books, and even some very fancy horses visiting the capital. You’re pretty much spoiled for choice – so if you can tear yourself away from your cosy couch and brave the rain, it looks a pretty fun weekend folks.

Visit the new Marilyn Monroe exhibition

The first of its kind in the UK, this exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the private world of Marilyn Monroe. From love letters, satin robes, timeless outfits to vintage shoes and make-up, this meticulously curated collection of 250 extraordinarily personal objects from the exclusive private collection of Ted Stampfer, the world’s largest collection of Marilyn Monroe’s historical objects of this kind, unveils Marilyn as never before.

The first of its kind in the UK, this exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the private world of Marilyn Monroe.

Yes, the place Taylor Swift was spotted at when she was in town for the Eras Tour that broke the internet and boosted the UK economy. Now, Casa Cruz is collaborating with acclaimed Parisian restaurant Jaïs to bring their French brasserie experience to this iconic neighbourhood spot. Chef Jaïs Mimoun will be over from Paris to take over the kitchen, showcasing a curated seasonal menu of his signature modern French cuisine, paired with exceptional wines, for a very elegant dining experience.

Discover some seriously cool art at Battersea Art Fair

The Battersea Autumn edition marks 25 years since the first-ever fair in Battersea Park in 1999. Late-night visitors can enjoy Ink & Drink workshops and a bespoke 25th-anniversary cocktail at the Art After Dark Lates. And for children of all ages, there are family mornings with a lovely creative corner on before noon on Saturday and Sunday. The Affordable Art Fair also celebrates Black History Month with a specially curated exhibition to celebrate contemporary Black artists.

Attend the Wimbledon BookFest

Book lovers, don’t miss this one. With headliners like Richard E. Grant, Elif Shafak, Clare Balding, Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock and Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, there’s lots to look forward to. Covering fiction, fashion, sustainability, politics, history, AI, food and much more, the festival takes place in venues across Central Wimbledon. One to look out for this weekend is the Wimbledon BookFest partnership with the Lahore Literary Festival that celebrates South Asian voices which will feature Baroness Sayeeda Warsi this Sunday, on 20th October.

Stanley Tucci is bringing his cocktail expertise to a special residency at The Artesian, The Langham Hotel this month. Tucci has co-curated the menu with The Artesian’s Head Bartender Giulia Cuccurrullo, which features gin cocktails, as part of Tanqueray No. TEN’s ongoing celebration ‘Make it a Ten’ with a chic menu that includes a gimlet, Stanley’s take on a French Martini, and French 75, alongside a selection of canapés. The bar will also be hosting Gin & Jazz nights with performances from breakthrough artist CKTRL.

After two sold-out shows in London earlier this month, Punjabi music mogul Diljit Dosanjh returns to the city for the next instalment of his historic Dil-Luminati Tour. He’s been just about everywhere at this point from touring across India to starring in Bollywood films, appearing on Jimmy Fallon and now, taking Punjabi music to the rest of the world. If he isn’t on your radar – he will be soon. The only question now is – will he bring Ed Sheeran out on stage again this weekend?

Explore all things James Bond

In homage to the 1964 classic film, Goldfinger, the Burlington Arcade in Mayfair has created a unique 007 experience titled, well, The 007. Look out for three handcrafted golden hanging sculptures, inspired by the iconic Aston Martin DB5, as you walk underneath a bespoke carpet featuring famous lines from the film. 

The 007  also has two luxuriously designed bars, open until 31 December, where you may enjoy a dash of 007 with signature cocktails specially created in partnership with Belvedere, Blackwell Rum, Champagne Bollinger and Macallan. In the downstairs bar, you’ll find iconic movie props including Oddjob’s hat, a Fort Knox gold bar, Goldfinger’s golf shoes and the spyhole clock from his private plane.

Sing your heart out at Musical Con 2024

Theatre kids – you obviously know about this one already. This year’s Musical Con event is the ultimate musical extravaganza which will see exclusive performances from over 100 special guests featuring West End and Broadway’s biggest stars including this year’s guest of honour, the Broadway legend André De Shields, the Grammy, Tony, and Emmy award winner known for his role in Hadestown.
