London’s 1st Restaurant Dedicated to Avocado Opens

Instagram, unicorns, matcha lattes and cactuses, nothing quite matches the ultimate millennial icon: the avocado. Yes, the humble avocado has found itself at the centre of all that is right and supposedly all that is wrong with us millennials. We’ll never be buying houses because we eat too much of it on toast, but we’ll have great skin thanks to its good fats. Swings and roundabouts. Anyway, why are we talking about avocado? Because London’s first restaurant dedicated to the fruit will be opening at this month and we’re feeling #blessed.

Simply named, Avobar, the restaurant (filled with living plant walls and natural materials inspired by California) will be joining the likes of Frenchie, The Oystermen, Sticks & Sushi, Ollie Dabbous’ Henrietta and Flat Iron on Henrietta Street. The menu will include the Avo Bun Burger, shakshuka bowls and of course avocado on toast which you can either have on sourdough or sweet potato ‘toast’ with toppings including smashed avo served with a homemade coconut labneh and beetroot hummas with feta. You’ll be able to take away too, so you can eat your smashed avo in front of Netflix. Just remember to Instagram it, because of course phones eat first.
