Instagram, unicorns, matcha lattes and cactuses, nothing quite matches the ultimate millennial icon: the avocado. Yes, the humble avocado has found itself at the centre of all that is right and supposedly all that is wrong with us millennials. We’ll never be buying houses because we eat too much of it on toast, but we’ll have great skin thanks to its good fats. Swings and roundabouts. Anyway, why are we talking about avocado? Because London’s first restaurant dedicated to the fruit will be opening at the end of the year and we’re feeling #blessed.
Simply named, Avobar, the restaurant (filled with living plant walls and natural materials) will be joining the likes of Frenchie, The Oystermen, Sticks & Sushi, Ollie Dabbous’ Henrietta and Flat Iron on Henrietta Street. The menu will include dishes such as avocado and spicy tuna on crispy rice and avo tuna tartar and eggplant fries with avocado dip. You’ll be able to take away too, so you can eat your smashed avo in front of Netflix. Just remember to Instagram it, because of course phones eat first.
