New bar Kumo opens its doors to London’s fashionable social set. The achingly cool Kumo, situated in the glamorous Beauchamp Place in Knightsbridge oozes opulence and sophistication. Whether it be the cutting edge interior, the deliciously adventurous cocktails, or the minimalistic Japanese cuisine, Kumo Knightsbridge is the place to be seen this winter.
Interior design duo Theo Theodorou and Valerie Bechtolshiem were inspired by Japanese culture as seen in Kumo’s rich, luxurious fabrics and colours. This Eastern influence is evident throughout every inch of the intimate setting whether it be the blood-red silk walls, the gold lights, the handcrafted Lotus Onyx bar or the stunning pyramid ceiling.
Award winning cocktail impresario Douglas Ankrah, author of the internationally acclaimed ‘Shaken & Stirred: Douglas Ankrah’s Cocktails’,has created an extensive and decadent cocktail list for Kumo, all inspired by fresh, Japanese ingredients.
Kumo boasts two of London’s most respected Japanese chefs, Nasa Laziri formerly of Zuma and Yuka Aoyama, formerly of The Nobu Berkeley who have pooled their experience together to bring an innovative ‘new style’ Japanese cuisine that is minamalistic, stylish and delightfully elegant.
