The Searcys’ Bubbly Show

The Andaz Wedding Show

We’re entering into wedding season, and catering to every dream wedding, Andaz is offering soon-to-be-weds a preview of its wedding experience on April 13th.

10 Years of Fashion Revolution

Fashion Revolution, the world’s largest fashion activism movement, marks its 10th anniversary this April with Fashion Revolution Week. Featuring 10 days of citizen events, the week brings together communities from around the world through a series of engaging local events across 75 countries, including a Mend in Public Day, taking place in London on 20th April.

The London Mend in Public Day will take place in Islington and aims to get the local fashion community to learn to repair their garments, and stand up against disposable fashion. Under the theme of ‘How to be a Fashion Revolutionary’, the free events will feature repair stations, interactive workshops, woven art, and panel discussions.

Ixta Belfrage takeover at The Standard

This exclusive menu takeover at Isla, The Standard’s laid-back all-day restaurant, comes from ex-Ottalenghi test kitchen chef and best-selling author Ixta Belfrage, and draws inspiration from the culinary traditions of Italy, Brazil, and Mexico, where Ixta’s culinary influence comes from.

On the menu the star of the show is the king prawn lasagne with habanero oil – the first opportunity to eat the dish in a restaurant setting. Other mains include guava roast duck tacos with chipotle crema; and crisped sticky rice stuffed aubergine.

Bowling isn’t traditionally associated with brunch, but All Star Lanes are on a mission to change that through their partnership with Hash Hut.

Founded by Chef James Sharp, ex-Masterchef: The Professionals contestant, Hash Hut takes hash browns from a much-loved side dish to the main character. Rich Woods takeover at Sotto

Soho’s cocktail scene is about to get even more exciting with a new collaboration between award-winning mixologist Rich Woods (aka The Cocktail Guy) and Sotto, the subterranean speakeasy bar situated beneath luxury Italian restaurant Bocconcino Soho. Woods has created a unique ‘Modern Italian Classics’ menu, reimagining classic cocktails with innovative Italian twists.

From classics with a twist like the Med Martini with lemon gin, bergamot, and Amalfi lemon to his creations like the Blackcurrant Negroni with added British eucalyptus and blackcurrant, there are creative combinations for everybody.

Dishoom’s Iftar Celebrations

April marks the holy month of Ramadan this year when Muslims across the world fast daily from dawn until dusk. It is also a time for shared feasting: both at suhoor, the pre-dawn meal, and at iftar – the evening meal to break one’s fast. In honour of these traditions, Dishoom will be hosting an Iftar celebration on April 7th, at Camley Street Natural Park near Dishoom King’s Cross.

The call to prayer will be led by Imam Hassen Rasool, before the day’s fast is opened with traditional iftar snacks. An abundant buffet including delicacies such as Baida Roti, Biryani, and Keema Pau will follow alongside live music by Chand Ali Khan.

The Mandrake’s Artist in Residence

The Mandrake has announced the latest collaboration in its Artist in Residence Programme, hosting Scottish artist, director, and multi-instrumentalist Magnus Westwell.

Next week the hotel’s Masha Hari Theatre will become Magnus’ personal laboratory for sound and movement, composing and recording long-form ambient soundscapes, individually crafted for the hotel’s unique and immersive spaces and representing The Mandrake through Magnus’ own lens.

Dinner Ladies Makan Malaysian Supper Club

Dinner Ladies – the female-run team known for their supper clubs – is presenting a Malaysian special at Studio Z. Inspired by Head Chef Nikika Marino Parlanti’s Malaysian heritage, guests are invited to ‘Makan’ (Malay for ‘come eat’) as the team hosts a huge feast of family recipes and childhood favourites, with a couple of fun twists along the way. 

The Brixton archway at Studio Z will be transformed into a jungle paradise for an evening of family-style feasting along banquet tables. Expect a vibrant spread served on banana leaves, and lots of punchy Southeast Asian flavours such as beef rendang, chilli crab, satay, and kaya.

April means it’s finally warm enough to start venturing back up to the rooftops of London. Sake Supper Club at Dalloway Terrace

Dalloway Terrace will be hosting a Sake Supperclub, offering a unique introduction to the artistry that underpins the creation of sake and shochu as guests try each sake paired with a dish created by Dalloway Terrace’s head chef, James Harrison.

Hosted by a Sake Samurai who will guide you through the tasting, the menu will feature grilled enoki mushroom, kombu dashi, truffle, and yuzu,  corn-fed chicken yasai zuke, and a miso and butterscotch tart with walnut ice cream.

Michelin-starred Istanbul restaurant Arkestra is making its way to London after announcing a residency at Carousel in Fitzrovia.

Established by husband-wife duo Cenk Debensason and Debora Ipekel, Arkestra is known for its genre-defying, bold cooking, and Istanbul’s first jazz-kissa inspired listening bar, dedicated to hosting international and local talent.

Guests can expect dishes like Duck breast with apicius sauce, seabass with sushi rice ice-cream ginger ponzu, and nori chips, and a yoghurt pannacotta with baklava crisps and sumac.

Jeremy Allen White claims Chicago-based Smyth inspired season 2 of The Bear, and now it’s coming to London – or, at least a chef who worked at the three-starred restaurant is.

Evelyn Aloupas is heading to natural wine bar Oranj for a four-week-long residency this month, delivering a vibrant seasonal menu full of dynamic flavours. Stand-out menu items include; roasted red beets, black garlic, horseradish-cashew butter, and radicchio; Mussels, kohlrabi, brown butter broth, and chive, as well as Scallops, rice koji allium broth, spring pea, and dill.

Aberfeldy pop-up at Alba Silverleaf

The team from Silverleaf at Pan Pacific London has curated three bespoke cocktails for Alba X Aberfeldy. The three cocktails showcase three highlighted tasting notes of Aberfeldy: peach, honey, and coconut. Each cocktail also pays homage to Argentina, the country of origin for the Malbec French Oak wine casks used to finish the Aberfeldy 21-Year-Old.

Argentinian small plates will accompany the exclusive drink menu.

The Gantry Hotel in Stratford is teaming up with award-winning inclusive British Afghan Smokehouse Cue Point Ldn for an Iftar Saturday Supper Club, to coincide with Ramadan and Solar New Year.
