Popping up everywhere right now, we’ve scrolled the web to find the pick of the bunch and asked one of our favourite interiors experts, Sue Jones, Co-Founder and Creative Director of OKA, for tips on what to look for and how to style the piece in your space.
The humble screen is an efficient way of sectioning off different parts of a room to trick you into feeling like you have more square footage. These handy separators are also a fabulous way to add a little drama and texture to a room. For example, in a bedroom they can add a boudoir-esque quality and serve as a great backdrop if you’re one for mirror selfies. 1. Section off cosy and intimate corners
“Use screens to separate different corners of a room, to make it feel cosier and more intimate. You could use one in a bedroom, for example, to separate a seating area from the bed, or to create a mini dressing room.”
2. Consider the rest of the room
“Make sure the design you choose complements the rest of the room; pick out a colour or material that’s present elsewhere, for example, to ensure there’s cohesion.”
3. Create the illusion of space
“If you want to create the illusion of a larger space, I’d recommend looking for a design that has mirrored panels, as this will reflect the light and instantly make the room feel bigger.”
