Christmas might be just around the corner, but we can’t forget to mention Thanksgiving, the American holiday that’s wormed its way over the pond to London. Whether you’re an American who has flown the nest and settled here in the UK or you just fancy a piece of the pie, we’ve rounded up our favourite restaurants serving up a Thanksgiving feast. 

This year Thanksgiving falls on Thursday 24th November – book in now to avoid disappointment.

The Lanesborough Grill

Capturing the season’s flavours, The Lanesborough Grill will serve up a decadent three-course Thanksgiving feast. 

Available for both lunch and dinner on Thursday 24th, the meal includes all the classics. Think sweetcorn velouté, cured salmon, buttered crab with coriander and ginger; Thanksgiving roast turkey with the traditional accompaniments; and a mouthwatering pecan pie cheesecake with vanilla Chantilly and ginger ice cream.

One Aldwych

Can’t go home this Thanksgiving? Spend it with your loved ones across the pond at Indigo. From canapés and a glass of Billecart-Salmon Champagne to a three-course meal, you can savour every bite and moment together. 

The menu includes ironbark pumpkin soup with glazed chestnuts and rosemary; maple-glazed farm turkey breast served with mashed sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and roast parsnip; and a zingy key lime pie with whipped coconut cream.

The Northall

Sip, savour and revel in a joyful dining experience this festive season and book in for the Northall’s epic Thanksgiving feast. Executive chef Andre Garrett will be setting the stage so you can celebrate with those who matter the most. 

The feast will kick off with canapés of wild mushroom arancini, cured salmon tartlets and corn crumpets with liver pâté. You’ll then have a choice of starters, from tartare of Lake District farm beef with spiced tomato, caper and sourdough to roasted acorn squash soup.

The main course is free-range Norfolk bronze turkey that’s roasted whole and carved to share, or a wild Atlantic sea bass with clam and lobster chowder and semolina gnocchi for the veggies. All mains are served with roasted sweet potatoes, braised red cabbage, green bean casserole with crispy shallots, macaroni gratin and apple and cranberry relish. You’ll even find a dedicated vegan menu on offer too. 

For those wanting something sweet, look forward to pecan and vanilla pie, pumpkin pie or marshmallows and mini apple pies to share.

The Game Bird

Keeping things classic is contemporary British restaurant, The Game Bird. This Thanksgiving, they’ll be flying out the orders, offering everything from butternut squash velouté with crispy garlic mushroom and cornbread to a hearty maple-glazed roast Norfolk turkey with all the trimmings. 

For pud, it’ll finish with an indulgent pecan pie served with lashings of maple syrup ice cream. Yum.

Local & Wild Group

The Shed, Nutbourne, Sussex, Rabbit, The Fat Badger & The Black Lamb

Feasting is on the cards at the Local & Wild Group’s restaurants this Thanksgiving. On Thursday 24th, all of the group’s restaurants will welcome a specially curated menu from executive chef Oliver Gladwin. 

Expect three courses of American-style cooking, including crab and corn chowder with homemade cornbread; a Yorkshire turkey parmo accompanied by black autumn truffle mac ‘n’ cheese, veggies and gravy; and a caramelised pumpkin Cambridge cream, a seasonal twist on a classic creme brulee.

Galvin Bar & Grill

Continuing its legendary Thanksgiving tradition, Galvin Bar & Grill will be serving up a four-course menu nodding to some of the holiday’s best-known culinary specialities. 

Situated inside Bloomsbury’s magnificent Kimpton Fitzroy London, the restaurant’s menu has been designed to showcase the best of British ingredients with an all-American twist. Think Dorset crab and sweet pumpkin cake with spring onion and Oscietra caviar; wild foraged mushrooms with green beans, soft quail eggs and fresh truffle; American southern-style fried blonde breed turkey with popovers, sweet potato mash and creole spiced sprouts; and a tasty pecan pie.

The Sloane Club

Chelsea’s private members’ club, The Sloane Club, will be championing the best of American celebrations this Thanksgiving. Their menu is packed to bursting with traditional treats, from its mussels and sweetcorn chowder to traditional roast Norfolk turkey with all the moreish trimmings. 

The meal will come to a close with a warm apple pie with vanilla-pecan nut brittle ice cream and Bourbon whiskey custard. It doesn’t get more comforting than this.

The Athenaeum

It’s feasting season, and The Athenaeum is going all out with its celebrations. Kicking off November’s festivities will be their Thanksgiving feast. 

Available on Thursday 24th November, expect an evening packed to the nines. The evening will start with a creamy crab and sweetcorn chowder before being followed by a stuffed and roasted bronze Norfolk turkey. It’s served with whipped mashed potato (which you can add black truffle to for an additional £9), buttered green beans, savoy cabbage, red wine jus and cranberry sauce. 

To seal the deal, the evening will close with executive chef Ian Howard’s spiced pumpkin cheesecake with chestnut ice cream.

Bread Street Kitchen

Over at Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen & Bar in St Pauls and Heddon Street Kitchen, they will be kitting out their restaurant with a special Thanksgiving feast. 

Think blow-out spreads with all the trimmings, from roasted turkey with sage and onion stuffing to pumpkin pie topped with clotted cream.

The Milestone Hotel & Residences

Immerse yourself in the spirit of Thanksgiving without the hefty plane fare to the USA. The Milestone Hotel & Residences will be celebrating with a banquet filled with all the favourites. 

Choose from a homemade green chilli cornbread muffin with roast chicken butter or sweet potato, goat’s cheese and pecan croquette with spiced cranberry to start. Before making your way through the second course of a slow-braised short rib of Hereford beef with seeded mustard polenta and smoked onion jam or go classic with a sweetcorn chowder with smoked bacon ravioli, spring onion and chive oil. 

The main course leaves room for a brand roasted crown of Norfolk bronze turkey with cranberry and chestnut stuffing, greens, root veggies and roast potatoes, or opt for the pan-seared salmon fillet or veggie wellington. 

Save room for pud and try the caramelised apple tart with bourbon anglaise and cinnamon ice cream or a spiced pumpkin cheesecake with gingerbread and cranberry reduction.

Where the Pancakes Are

To celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas, Where the Pancakes Are is going all out with a pancake take on the season’s finest fare. 

Look forward to tucking into their turkey Dutch baby, a Dutch-style pancake packed with roasted turkey, Brussels sprouts, pumpkin, fried sage leaves, poached cranberries and sage butter. A rather unique affair, pair it with a glass of their toasty house-made mulled wine.
