Add a little adventure to your weekend and journey over to Northumberland Avenue to catch the scandalous CABARET at the Kit Kat Club. This week saw two new big names take over the starring roles of The Emcee and Sally Bowles.
The two striking roles will be played by two music icons. Scissor Sisters’ frontman Jake Shears will be taking over as The Emcee, while Rebecca Lucy Taylor AKA Self Esteem will be performing alongside in the role of Sally Bowles.
Having won a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards including Best Musical Revival, CABARET brings Berlin’s famous Kit Kat Club to life. Expect brilliant set designs, extravagant costumes and sensational storylines – you’ll be hooked from the moment you step foot in the theatre.

It’s that time of year again: King’s Cross is set to transform into a vintage lover’s paradise thanks to the return of the Classic Car Boot Sale.
Taking over the neighbourhood this Saturday and Sunday, the car boot will feature a display of MINI Coopers from across all ages to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Mini Cooper S and 75 years since the company was founded.
Granary Square, Lewis Cubitt Square and Coal Drops Yard will all be abrim with cars filled with second-hand items and pre-loved goodies. Weave in between the stalls, perusing the items and soaking up the vintage atmosphere.

Stop by Shelter to catch their AllSaints collab
This weekend sees AllSaints team up with the housing and homelessness charity, Shelter, for a special autumn partnership. AllSaints will be donating 2,000 pieces of stock across eight different Shelter stores in the UK. All profits will go towards their fight to end the housing emergency.

Catch Kew’s new month-long festival
This Saturday marks the beginning of Kew Gardens’ month-long festival celebrating the diversity and beauty of queer plants and fungi. Taking over the Temperate House will be a large-scale artwork by New York-based artist Jeffery Gibson titled House of Spirits. Fusing colour and pattern, it features a collage of printed fabrics to create a botanical garden.
There’ll also be a newly designed garden titled Breaking the Binary, created by Patrick Featherstone in collaboration with Kew’s Youth Forum.
Throughout the month, expect a series of after-hours evenings, filled with music, cabaret, comedy and talks.

Stop by this new free exhibition
The Maas Gallery has unveiled a new free exhibition this week, showcasing the new paintings and graphic works by artist Sarah Adams. Her first major exhibition at the gallery’s new space in St James’s, you’ll find Adams’ work draws inspiration from remote coves and sea caves found in coastal Cornwall.
On display until Friday 13th October, the exhibition will feature Adams’ signature painting style alongside a number of new mixed-media works, from ink to charcoal.

Be part of the opening Turner Prize 2023 weekend
A big moment for any art lover, Towner Eastbourne has been chosen to host the Turner Prize 2023. The world’s leading prize for contemporary art, the prize is awarded to a British artist to celebrate an astounding exhibition or other presentation of their work over the past 12 months.
This week sees the opening of the exhibition of Turner Prize’s shortlisted artists. Running until 14th April 2024, the exhibit features work from Jesse Darling, Ghislaine Leung, Rory Pilgrim and Barbara Walker.

Celebrate York’s food culture
York’s annual Food & Drink Festival has taken over the historic city once more, bringing with it a range of chef demonstrations, free cookery workshops, market stalls, taste trails and fringe events.
Over 100 stands will be on hand, serving up a range of street food to enjoy on the day or goodies you can take home with you. There’ll be plenty of entertainment alongside, from music through to evening performances.
Over on St Sampson’s Square, expect local chefs to be showcasing their expertise, with the option to get involved in some of the demonstrations for yourselves.

Head to the last festival of the season
Signalling the final weekender of the festival season, Stanmer Park is set to be taken over once more for the return of Boundary Festival.
The Brighton festival takes place this Saturday 30th and will see big-name acts taking over four stages spread around the park. The line-up includes Pendulum, Sub Focus, Kurupt FM, Ben Hemsley, Enzo Siragusa and Solardo.
