Learn about art after Impressionism at this new exhibition
Impressionism dominated the art scene throughout the 19th-century, with much of its movement still celebrated and reflected in art today. But the period after Impressionism started as a complex wave of reinvention, from the latest 1800s through to the outbreak of WWI. The National Gallery’s new exhibition hopes to reflect this movement toward modern art, highlighting the body of work from three major artists spearheading the scene.
Expect to see work from Paul Cèzanne, Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin and the influencers they had across Europe. As well as work from the likes of Klimt, Kokoschka, Matisse and Picasso.
When: 25.03.2023 – 13.08.2023
Where: The National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, WC2N 5DN
