Topshop Returns

The High Street mecca that was is back, looking fresh and relevant in a new age – not in bricks and mortar, but with its very own standalone digital shop front on Is it enough for those missing the fashion beacon that once dominated Oxford Street? We’re ready to find out and see Topshop reclaim its reputation as the most influential and recognisable names in British design.

You’d be forgiven for feeling almost a sense of loss when the doors of the flagship store closed for the last time; there was most certainly an air of disbelief. TOPSHOP and TOPMAN were dependable haunts for the style-conscious; havens for guaranteed coolness and the most catwalk-inspired collections. So much so, the brand unveiled its own recurring London Fashion Week catwalk show, which became the hottest ticket in town with the likes of Anna Wintour, Kate Moss, and Alexa Chung holding court on the FROW.

Sadly, this golden era was not to last and the huge one-stop lifestyle store (where you could shop, eat, get a blow dry, and even your ears pierced) went on to become an IKEA. Thankfully stepped in. Not to be dramatic, but the online retailer saved the day, giving the iconic TOPSHOP its own landing page. And this month sees its glorious return to the limelight, with a focus on design, quality, and a few of our old faves (we know you missed your Jamie jeans, right?).

The all-new AW22 collection, the first to be designed entirely under, harks back to the label’s original inspiration: true British culture. The logo and striking orange backdrop are reminiscent of the signage traditionally used within the stores; the actual campaign, photographed by Jesse Jenkins, also resonates with that old TOPSHOP spirit. It can’t be denied that this all sounds very promising…

We believe this is an exciting evolution, with the brand set to disrupt and adapt. For the first time, TOPSHOP and TOPMAN will also introduce truly inclusive sizing through the Curve range, as well as further invest in its Maternity, Tall, and Petite collections. This season we can even expect a series of limited-edition pieces, so call your pals, order in the pizza, shake up those cocktails and get ready for your ultimate shopping night in.
