Obviously there’s nothing more exciting than hitting the latest openings in town; stepping out in killer heels, sipping on dirty martinis, potentially owning the dance floor. Until someone suggests a margarita at home in your pjs… bliss. Just us? Didn’t think so.

Ok, so both options are equally exciting – for different reasons – but sometimes a night in with your besties is just what’s needed. Throw in a Deliveroo order, a tequila-based tipple and we’re sorted. It’s nothing new, although the pandemic most definitely propelled us into a new way of socialising at home. Once content with a glass of red, lockdown got us experimenting with our booze to spice up those Zoom quiz nights. We’re all now cocktail converts.
Pre-made blends began flying off the shelves, M&S gin-in-a-tin couldn’t have been loved more. And then there was Lockdown Liquor & Co. This was a launch we didn’t know we’d been waiting for – we’re talking premium, expertly blended cocktails right to your door. The taste of the highlife, dimly lit bars and classy clubs all in one bottle to be quaffed in your own living room. All we needed was the fancy cut glass. Did someone say Picante?
There’s also a slew of celebs launching superior spirits, again instantly elevating our aperitif. Kate Hudson’s King St, Vodka is the first female-led craft vodka brand and Kendall Jenner is behind the award winning hand-crafted tequila, 818. Even if you don’t drink the hard stuff, Blake Lively launched Betty Buzz, a range of sparkling mixers made with only clean ingredients. And with no need for a celeb at its helm, there’s also Pentire, a non-alcoholic alternative to gin which is irrefutably delicious.
With the liquor in the drinks cabinet, all we have to do is to stock up on our coupes and tumblers, our hiballs and shakers, jiggers and spoons. I mean, without the kit, your negroni will never make the cut… so let’s get the gear, especially when it looks this good. You want the A-list bar at home? Then here’s the pieces you’ll love…
