Are You Mad

Despite all of our efforts to recycle, much of the waste still ends up in landfills, being burned or in some cases sent to other countries. On a mission to do better is Londoner James Suckling who set up London’s first visible recycling shop, Are You Mad.

The space acts as plastic sorting facility and a retail store, allowing Londoners the opportunity to shop and help out where they can. The team collects waste from local businesses, shoppers and the growing community, before it’s then sorted, cleaned, shredded and turned into new objects, from furniture to art. Since launching last summer, the ongoing pop-up has helped to regenerate five tonnes of plastic waste.
