José Pizarro

José Pizarro is a Spanish chef widely credited with popularising Spanish cuisine in the UK in the late 1990s. Born in Extremadura, he began his career at Eyre Brothers in Shoreditch before becoming the Executive Chef at Brindisa. In 2011, he opened his first restaurant José on Bermondsey Street, offering simple and traditional tapas. His restaurants now include José Pizarro at the Royal Academy, Jose Pizarro Broadgate, Pizarro and José Pizarro The Swan Inn, while he has also published a line of regional Spanish cookbooks and is a regular face on our TV screens.  Earlier this year, José opened his first restaurant outside the UK: José by Pizarro, at the Conrad Hilton in Abu Dhabi.

PIZARRO BERMONDSEY

 Pizarro Bermondsey is José Pizarro’s second London restaurant. Found one block away from José’s original tapas bar on Bermondsey Street; close to Bermondsey station with London Bridge not far away.

The restaurant serves a menu of small tapas style and more substantial dishes that can be served as starters and mains or as tapas for sharing. The menu features José’s signature tapas dishes such as Croquetas and Spicy prawn fritters as well as Spanish classics such as Cuttlefish a la plancha and Ox cheek rice.

The bar offers a great selection of sherries and Spanish wines, Spanish style gin tónicas and cocktails. Window seats overlooking the church of St Mary Magdalen and the bar area with communal table are the perfect place to enjoy a drink and tapas all day long. While the restaurant area features intimate for dining at lunch and dinner. There is also a private dining room for up to 10 people.

The restaurant is open all day from Monday until Sunday and takes reservations for lunch and dinner. The bar seating is held for walk ins.

JOSÉ PIZARRO AT THE ROYAL ACADEMY OF ARTS

José Pizarro at the RA, his first restaurant in the heart of Mayfair, surrounded by art. José has taken over the beautiful Senate Room located on the first floor of Burlington Gardens, the space is beautifully light and airy and is the perfect setting for our tapas menu.

The restaurant is open for everyone to enjoy when visiting The Royal Academy of Arts in Piccadilly. The perfect lunch or afternoon drink spot for art and food lovers alike. Pre-booking is recommended.
