The Best Restaurants In London With Late Last Orders

24th September 2024 | By Patrick Dunne

For a major city with a population of over 12 million, London doesn’t quite earn 24/7 status. Last orders in restaurant are often pre 9pm – especially on weekdays – and due to local licensing laws pubs are largely forced to shut at 11:30pm.

What Londoner hasn’t been stranded in central, desperately hunting for somewhere, anywhere, to let you in for a meal before resolving to just get a kebab, or much worse, whatever meal deal is still left in the supermarket? Thankfully, some places do still serve past 10pm, you just need to know where to look. We’ve rounded up some of the best restaurants in London with late last orders.

Pizarro Bermondsey

If ever in doubt while hunting around London for a late night bite to eat, Spanish is a pretty safe bet. Notorious late eaters, often just hitting their second course while Britain is getting ready for bed (even on a school night) it also helps that it is pretty delicious.

We love José Pizarro’s Bermondsey restaurant, which serves classic Spanish fare like daily croquettas, gamba blanca con ajillo and jamón Iberico. The kitchen closes at 10:45pm and the last booking is at 10:30pm, so there is plenty of time for an after-hours dinner.

Bocconcino

Both of Bocconcino’s venues – in Mayfair and Soho – are always open late, with the last booking at 10.45 pm.

During the week guests can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere while dining late on great Italian food, while on Friday and Saturday, both venues come alive with the beats of its resident DJs.

Offering a delicious menu inspired by Latin flavours combined with influences from Nikkei cuisine, it has a full range of Japanese dishes such as yellowtail tiraditos, sushi and tempuras as well as Brazilian picanhá and Peruvian poussain.

In addition, after 11:30 pm, the late-night club opens its doors until early morning, the perfect way to celebrate longer evenings.

Brasserie Zedel

Brasserie Zedel is loud, boisterous, and classically French – the perfect place to head when three pints deep and suddenly craving French onion soup at 10pm.

In addition, the building also plays host to ZL Café, a casual pavement-level café, an authentic American cocktail bar, Bar Américain, and a live music and cabaret venue, Crazy Coqs, so there’s no shortage of ways to keep the party going once you’ve been fed.
