Reality star, businesswoman…dramatic actor? Kim Kardashian might not be the first person you’d imagine to be leading a legal drama, but she’ll be appearing alongside the likes of Glenn Close, Naomi Watts and Sarah Paulson in the new series All’s Fair this year. Coming to Disney+, it sees Kim K take the starring role of Allura Grant, a high-powered divorce lawyer who decides to leave her firm to start her own with a team of other women. Here’s all you need to know:

What is All’s Fair about?

Kim revealed several years ago that she was in the process of studying to become a lawyer and pass the bar, but in the world of All’s Fair, she’s very much already there. Allura Grant is a successful, savvy divorce lawyer- but she still feels like she has untapped potential, not least because the firm where she works is dominated by men, which she finds restricting. When she decides she’s had enough, Allura decides to strike out on her own, with the help of a few friends. Liberty (Watts), Dina (Close), Emerald (Niecy Nash), and Milan (Teyana Taylor) all join her to start up a new, independent and female-led law firm and make a name for themselves.

In their day to day cases they might be dealing with high profile divorces, but the drama begins to seep into their lives, too: according to Disney+’s official log-line, the shows sees the all-female team “navigate high-stakes breakups, scandalous secrets, and shifting allegiances—both in the courtroom and within their own ranks”, even as they seek to change the game. There are a few hints at this in the official trailer, which begins by introducing us to Allura and co. and their very extravagant lifestyles (it looks like it’ll be as much for fashion fans as fans of legal dramas.) Expect plenty of arguments, fights and romance as the cases unfold.

It also looks like Sarah Paulson might be playing something of a harsh character in her role of Carrington Lane, having some choice words for the new legal firm in the trailer (“That’s bitter… just like the women who own this joint.”) While we don’t know much else about the series beyond those details, we’re certainly intrigued. All’s Fair is set to be nine episodes long and will arrive on Disney+ this autumn.
