Annabel’s Mayfair Unveils A Beautiful New Rainforest Façade

One of Mayfair’s best-known private members clubs, Annabel’s, has just revealed a brand new façade.
For the uninitiated, Annabel’s is famous for its beautiful building front, often reimagined to mark events ranging from Christmas to Halloween. But the latest design is a nod to a particularly worthy cause.

It stands as an artistic statement bridging the urgency of the deforestation crisis to London and the UK to remind us we all have a role to play in the safeguarding of our planet.
The installation, displayed throughout September, is created in collaboration with The Caring Family Foundation (TCFF) and is designed to highlight “both the beauty and devastation of the Amazon rainforest,” according to a press release shared by Annabel’s.
“It stands as an artistic statement bridging the urgency of the deforestation crisis to London and the UK to remind us we all have a role to play in the safeguarding of our planet.”
The initiative is part of Annabel’s for the Amazon fundraising campaign which, to date, has reportedly “planted 1.75 million trees and seedlings and is on track to reach 2 million by March 2024. This commitment and dedication make TCFF the largest UK donor to reforestation efforts in the Brazilian Amazon.”

To celebrate the campaign, Grammy Award winner Seal will headline the fourth annual Annabel’s for the Amazon party on the 21st September. Then, on the 25th, the club will also welcome two climate leaders and voices for indigenous communities, Sônia Guajajara and Txai Suruí, to raise awareness on the issues facing indigenous people in the Amazon, caused by deforestation.
As for the rest of the venue, Annabel’s will feature the prestigious artwork Winds of Yawanawa, from Richard and Patricia Caring’s private collection for the duration of the campaign. This first-of-its-kind co-creation between trailblazing new media artist Refik Anadol and the Yawanawá community was curated and commissioned by Impact One, as part of Possible Futures: a programme exploring new equitable ways of collaboration with indigenous communities.
